Category for Parents

I was looking at USCIS site and various other sites. I could not figure out which category of Family Based Green Card do my parents come under? Is it 2 or 4?

Parents of US citizens are Immediate Relatives.

If US citizens sponsor their parents, there is no waiting period. They are immediate relatives.

If US permanent residents sponsor their parents, there is waiting period.

I was looking for availability of visa on USCIS site (see point 5 on that page). I do not see any category called immediate relatives. Can you tell me based on this table which category do parents fall under?

I am guessing it is

First: Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Citizens: 23,400 plus any numbers not required for fourth preference.

The "table" is only for categories subject to quotas. Parents are immediate relatives and they are not subject to quotas. You will find no reference to immediate relatives by looking at the table.

Why on earth would you guess that?? How many US citizens give birth to their own parents?
