Brothers Petitions

Hello everybody,
I filed relative petitions for two of my brothers. Both petitions have just been approved. I have been notified that within 90 days they will be contacted to set up the interview step with them. The first brother will be ready within that time frame, however my second brother will not be able to attend the interview within that time frame ,since he needs more time to settle things back home before he can actually immigrate.
Questions:
1) Is there any way for me to request a hold be placed on my second brother case? A USCIS form?
2) How long it takes for the interview to take place, after the petition has been approved?
3) What docs are usually requested to take to the interview?
3) Once the case has been adjudicated and finally approved , how long they have to immigrate to the US? Do they give them a time frame?
Thanks very much!

Petitions were both filed on 1/20/06 and approved 1/26/10. They are both current

they are not current and they will not be current for a number of years. You need to read up on what that means. Since they are not current, they will definitely not be an interview any time soon. Since their priority date is 2006, that means that they will have to wait about 5-6 more years until their PD becomes current and an interview will be scheduled within a year of that date. That's assuming that they are not from Mexico or Phillipines, for which the wait is much longer.

I just found out they are not current as you said because of the PD. However I was told by USCIS they will notify them to set up an interview date within 90 days. I understood that for the interview it might take up to a year after they were approved meaning 1/26/11. Is that right? They will have to wait until their PD is current, correct? Did you say it might even be 6 years for this?
Thanks!;)

Who in USCIS told you that? One of their buffoons on the phone? Their phone people don't know anything.

Are your brothers inside or outside the US? If inside, are they in legal immigration status?

Yes, that is what the USCIS guys on the phone said and also that is what the Approval Notice implies, 90 days to set up an interview. Set up only though, not immediately getting it. :confused:They are both outside of the country. I see the the current priority is 1999 and theirs is 2006. Thanks:D

What that means is that within 90 days they'll notify NVC which will wait for several years until the PD is approximately 9-12 months away from being current.
