SESA\'s holding LC application for ever...!!!

My LC application was sent to MA SESA back in June, but I haven\t heard anything from my lawyer that SESA had forwarded the case to Boston DOL. Anybody have any idea what the SESA\'s current processing date is? Given current processing speed, Boston DOL probably won\'t even see the case by June next year!!!

About 4000 LCs waiting...

Thanks for posting the interesting facts! The number adds up to about 4000 LCs still waiting. Assuming DOL clears 30 cases per work day (I doubt it), it would take 130 work days (more than 26 weeks!!!) to them to clear the cases in the queue. For the cases like mine which are a year away from entering the queue, there isn\'t really much hope there.

Curious

pikachu pokemon, you are on this board from a long time. Just a quick question, what is the average number of approvals per day?

No Title

average is 6 approvals per day.. there have been around 140-180 approvals per month for August, Sept and October so far..

SESA Processing

Does anoyone have more insight into this? According to the web sites (various lawyer sites, etc) they are still processing April. But they have been in April for months, when my application was submitted on 7/2/2001 they were in March, which means they have only moved one month in the last four months. Ahyone has any idea why that is?

Ahyone has any idea why that is?

Simple... In one word 245(i)

The deadline for filing LC applications to qualify for 245(i) was April 30, 2001.. This caused a mad rush of applications to flow into the SESA\'s around that date. Most of the SESA\'s are still stuck in April.. CT, CA, MA, NY, NJ ...

The last time this deadline expired (jan 14 1998), many SESA\'s went into a chock with regular processing.. In fact, CT took 2 yrs to get past that date !!

From imm-law.com "DOL estimates that SESAs throughout the country have received roughly 230,000 permanent labor certification cases during the recent rush of 245(i) filing that ended on April 30, 2001. My Lord!! Uninformed sources also indicate that New York alone received over 47,000 applications during the time. New Jersey also reportedly received 19,000 applications. Massachusetts also reportedly received approximately 10,000(?). About one half of 230,000 cases were filed, according to the DOL sources, in New York and California"

Once they get past April 30, the progress should be quicker..

Maybe i should request my position to be changed to inhouse cook for my company instead of a Programmer/Analyst

do you mean 4 denied are cooks or all 30 are cooks ?? If all 30 are cooks, what RD\'s are you talking about ? Those are probably Oct 15 - Oct 30 RD\'s... which are the seasonal worker H2B temporary cases..

See the number of openings.. They will typically be 10 - 60 :) Also see the message for the denials.. It will say "Denied, Temporary" and compare with the EMC denied case which says "Denied, Permanent"..

Only thing this means to me is that the AVM did get updated and they did not work on any permanent cases on 10/30 ;-(

All are cooks, most cases are Reduct. in Recruitment Denied. Do you have any idea about Denied Permanent? Why is it so?

I don\'t want to be sinical, but...

burocracy and corruption are always hand in hand. people might *know* people at Boston DOL. And there is nothing illegal about pulling one case out of other cases. "Unfortunate" people like you and me have to go through the front door and stand all those INS/DOL crap.

Pikachu, where is your analysis for 10/31 activity...?

Hi Pikachu, your daily analysis reports have been extremely helpful and they keep us up to date with Boston DOL\'s activity. There are only two things that I look for in the mornings, a cup of coffee and Pikachu\'s analysis. Where is your analysis for 10/31?
They probably spend 10 minutes a day working on our cases whereas we spend hours researching and bitching. I think by the time they approve our cases some of us will loose our jobs anyway because we work less and go insane with depression.
