Hello,

I got my green card(asylum base) couple of months ago. I supposed to get green card four years ago. but it was holding by USCIS. They have back dated my green card only for one year. I would like to know, is there any way, I can back date Green card to four years? Please share your experiences and advisers. Thank you so much.

When was your GC approved? You can backdate one year from the date your GC was approved.

Hey Mesbahul,
Thank you for reply. My GC approved 04/05/13. It was holding 4 years, I want to know, is it possible to back date to four years?. Friend of mine told me. If I file I-90, USCIS might back date GC. I want to know,my friend's info accurate or not. If any body in this forum back date GC more than 1 year. Please share your experience with us. Thank you so much.

Green Card Category Eligibility

Hi

I have a question about which category (EB1/2/3) of Green card i fall IN.
Nationality : India
Education : Bachelor of Engineering in Computers
Experience : 4 yrs with employer A(2 yrs in India + 2yrs in USA) + 1 yr with employer B(USA) = 5 yrs experience
Designation : Quality Analyst (Information Technology)
Visa Status : H-1B

Now my new employer i.e. with employer B with whom i have worked for 1 yr will file my GC.
Under which category i fall of GC, usually my employer says EB3 since they say u need to have 5 yrs of experience outside employer B i.e. my previous employment.

Please suggest which category i am eligible for. Thanks in advance !

Thanks
Sumit

I doubt you can backdate the four years your GC application was in holding.. I think your friend is wrong. Form I-90 is used for renewing your GC or replacing a GC.

Nope.

Not accurate. GCs are never backdated just because the I-485 was pending. They are dated as of approval, or in asylum cases backdated a year.
