AUGUST - Visa revalidation tracking

Visa approved !

After what seemed an interminable wait, looks like my visa is finally approved. I called the DC office today and was able to talk to a visa officer in 5 mins (!!!). She said my visa was approved today and that I should get my passports by end of next week or early the week after next. I also came to know from my company's immigration specialist that Monday is a federal holiday. So it does look like I may not get the passports before end of next week. Still that should be acceptable as I am flying out on 25th night (see, I get 25th too :) !!).

I am assuming after 29-Aug they process 2-Sep because 1-Sep is Labor Day. Any ideas ?

My status

Hi Guys,
I've called DC office now (3:50pm). I've been told that they are processing August First week (SL dates). Really, they do not want to say anything about DC dates. I assume, Sep 02 (DC Date) cases could be approved within this week. They work on Saturday too. We can again call them on Monday.

Re: correction for DS156 error

Hi,

Here is the update:
I called and the lady was very friendly and helpful. She told me that
the DC mailroom was shutdown for some reason and would not be able
to recieve my correction mail soon. And gave me their fax#202-663-
1608. She even told me how to write the fax but she is not sure
whether the officer would accept my correction this way. She told me if
the application gets returned, will take extra 5 days. (I guess in reality,
as I've seen, 2-3 weeks). she asked me to call back next week. She
also told me my DC date was Sep 5 and hasn't been processed yet.
(My SL date was Aug-13. If you want, you can add me into the tracker.)

I've done all I can, now just make the wish that they would accept my
correction.

Did anybody in this thread applied for H1 and H4 revalidation with the original I-797 of H4??? and got it stamped for both for H1 and H4
I have my I-797 for just me .. I did't applied for my wife H4 extension Becasue she is not here right now .. But she will be landing any time .. My old visa is going to expire on jan04. My wife will be coming on dec1 st week..
1)Can i apply with out her I-797 for her revalidation??
2) or i should and must have her I-797 also for her revalidation

needed this thread expertise!!!!!

do they work 6 days a week or what? jharkhandi has written somewhere that they work only 4 days a week.
 
DC Working Days

My guess is, they are like us only. They will work for 5 days, but may do some extra work on holidays.

withdrawal of reval application

Can somebody share withdrawing of revalidation application here.

1. How many days does it take to get the passports back in hand from the time sending fax to DC ?

2. What are the chances of getting it stamped if it is already 75 days over from SL received date ?

3. Will there be any remarks or letter sent or marked on PP having sent the papers for revalidation ? Does it effect by any chance for future revalidation process in consulates ?

4. Is it good idea to use drop box for revalidation or go to consulate directly ?

5. When does the reciprocatory fees returned back ?

Hi Guys,
I called DC and enquired about my case. The visa officer told me that my visa has been issued last week itself and should be getting our passports at any time.

Here are my details:

Application details :
Employer Change : yes
Previous Visa : Issued at Chennai
Passport change : yes (sent old and new)
Fee payment : Cahier Check
Sent one cashier-check for the whole family and have attached only one FedEX cover for the whole family.

SL-Date : August 04, 2003
DC-Date : Sep 02, 2003
Visa Status : As of 11/10, it is issued.
Visa Issuded date : ????
PP received date : ????

Prabably, FedEX may pickup my package today. Let us see. As soon as I get information about my case, I'll post here. You got something to eat... Ha!!!

Hope we all get our good news soon. Tuesday Nov 11 is Veterans Day (Federal Holiday) and they may not work tomorrow. Joe, did you ask them, which date's cases they were processing today?

The Rep I spoke to in the morning was rude enough to tell me that they are still processing End of July...

Please contact next week.

All,

Will calling them frequently cause delays in the actual processing of the cases...??

My guess is they dont have a separate customer service line - the people who are answering our call is the one who needs to work on them too.. Any thoughts?

Also this forum has been terrific with lots of helping people around. :)

Just now i called DC, the lady Officer is kind enough to say my visa is processed, it will be stamped SOON, but she refused to eloberate how SOON.

my Details

- H1 Revalidation
- First time issued in Chennai.
- Mode of payment - Money Order
- sent - fedex overnight
- SL rcv Date - 5th Aug
- DC rcv date - 2nd Sep


Hopefully will get the PP in this week.

they started processing Sept cases. so guys hang on for some more time

I am also in same boat..my DC date is sept 2. I am planning to travle on 16 Sept. I didn't called DC office yet.
