To vallabhu

You should mail one to DC at the earliest, with a letter giving all the details without wasting any time. That's the best I can think of.
 
Does any one know what is the process , in case we forget to send a self addressed envelop.??


My *guess* is that they will send it by regular USPS mail. But have it verified.

I thnink I will wait till week end and call them early next week b'coz now I am not in a hurry as I cancelled my tickets , My only worry is loosing my documents .
 
Can I schedule a pickup ?? is that goop option .

I think you are confusing UPS with USPS. UPS is a courier company like Fedex whereas USPS which I was referring to is the United States Postal service.
 
DC- 29th Sep

My passport was sent to St.louis on 14th Aug and recd. on 15th Aug and was recd.in DC on 29th Sep.
 
Visa Status

Hi Manish_in,

I checked with the female yesterday. She told me that my Visa was printed on 11/19/2003 but, I still have to go through QA.

It seems every VISA has to go through QA after it is approved and printed. Then QA people will send it out.

My packet has not been picked till now, hope I can track it today.

olops, I unstand UPS and USPS are two diff things , I assumed it must be lying in mail room unattended , So if I schedule a pick up they will go ask for the document , So some one will search and hand it oveer to them.



If they send it by UPSPS which address will they send it to , The from address on the fedex which i sent my documents in, or the address on the D156 and the cover lettter.

Does any one know.

At least your visa was printed. Mine has not been printed yet. And I dont think, each and every application has to go through QA. I would think, that they pick up random cases.
 
Visa Status

May be you are right, but I have been informed by the DOS people that there are 3 stages in visa revalidation process and every case has these 3 status in the system.

Looking at the status for these stages they can tell whether you are approved, printed or dispatched.

She also told me that printing & QA people are working overtime (saturdays) to get the VISAs out in time.

I just called visa office,

they said they would send it in a regular mail back to from address on the envelop which documents were sent in.

I still dont understand, why it takes them no time to send some PPs out the same day as visa was approved, and takes forever for others.
 
Guys:

I am really confused at this time, DOS told me was printed and sent, UPS shows nothing, and I feel stupid calling again DOS to ask because I believe that the passport hasn't been dispatched.
I don't really know what to think UPS would had a record of the package by now. UPS told me that they haven't picked up my package. Of course I cannot argue with DOS about this matter anymore.

I really need help on this one.

Any suggetions?

Dont Worry !!

I went thru a similar experience earlier this month. My PP was stamped and send to QA, after that it took around 2 weeks to get my PP back thru USPS.

In my case, the tracking did not show up anything, because there was no post office seal in the envelope and no one scanned the envelope. One fine day, I recd. my package and checked the USPS web-site still no tracking changes. The online tracking "showed no information available", eventhough I had recd. the package.

So its really a pain to wait without knowing any info, but be patient you will get it.

Spelling mistake

I have received my PP today.

My name is spelled incorrectly on my wife's H4, does that cause any problem, instead of SANTHOSH it was printed as SANTOSH, an 'H" is missing after T. Did anyone hear about a similar case?
Should I send it back to DC for correction?
