I am asuming that the guy is lying about the case. So please don't get excited about that matter. People like these who spread hoax are evrywhere in this world.
Lets go smoothly as we were and forget this man's opinion.

Does anyone has any Idea as whats going on at Atlanta DOL.
As per lawyer they also received some cases from Sep'02,
But these are very few corresponding to cases filed in Sep'02-Oct'02

Please Post your replies and try to make this thread on top.

ATLANTA DOL is still working on cases received in August 2002.

My attorney told me that she received approval on a case that went to ATLANTA DOL in 1st week of September 2002. But there are several cases (that she is handling), those went to ATLANTA DOL in August 2002, have not been approved yet.

The logic she gave me is that it depends on officer to officer handling the cases. Someone who is more efficient or has less workload might work faster than others.

So guys, just pray and hope that your case goes into the hands an efficient officer (which I doubt are very few).

:p

luzarun,

I have a couple of friends who have gone thru CP in Delhi. After I-140 approval, it takes 4-6 months at the most to get the interview date for CP in Delhi. Once you get thru the interview, it takes 1-3 weeks to get your Plastic GC card in your hand after landing in US. About AOS, it is obvious that your case will go to BCIS, Texas and it may take 2-3 years (as per current processing status/time) to get thru I-485 step. So CP is much faster than AOS. CP has one disadvantage and a little risk. You will not get EAD and you should have to maintain your job/salary till final day of interview. Choose CP only if you are sure and confident about your job.

AOS vs CP

I am also debating between AOS vs CP. Right now I-140 is taking 9 months for processing. And it takes about 6-12 mths for CP/China with added lead time from Name Check Process. So overall, 140+485 takes 2-3 years, 140+CP takes 1.5-2 years.

My lawyer also mentioned the potential retrogression of Visa, meaning you have to wait for priority date to be current in order to file CP or AOS, which is current right now. But retrogression will not happen until Sept. 2004 if it happens.

The phone retrieval system is messed up. But my old records indicated that DOL is working on both late Aug. and Sept. cases. Keep our chin up and pray, pray & pray.

Hello guys,

What is the Atlanta processing date ?. Is it the date I applied my labour in SESA Kentucky State or the date which Atlanta has received my application after SESA has forwarded it ?. Please advise.

Thanks.

This Site, I mean Immigration.com has refreshed the dates for
Labor and According to this Atlanta is Still processing Aug-Sep'02 Cases. Do you guys have any Idea How long will it take to reach
to reach April'03 with the current speed.

If any one has got any response from Atlanta...Please Post.

I know some guys who are just browsing the site and not
updating the Thread..I would request everybody..Please just
don't browse..Post your responses....talks with lawyer ..anything

Naveen111,

Atlanta Processing date and SESA date dont' have any link. They process cases independently and use their own receipt dates as prcessing dates. Atlanta is processing Aug'02 cases. It means Atlanta is processing all those applications which were received in Atlanta DOL office during Aug'02. If SESA transfers/sends a case to Atlanat as of today that means case will be processed in Atlanta DOL office when Atlanta DOL moves to today's date and there is around one year backlog as of today.

Mysterious_GC,

By looking into past couple of months processing speed, it seems that Atlanta DOL is taking 2 months on average in order to process one month cases and that is increasing backlog. Based on this situation, Atlanta DOL may take somewhere 12-16 months to come to April 2003 cases. I am sorry for that. Well, it has been observed ijn past that sometimes DOL jumps couple of months in one month. It may take less than what I said eariler if it happens anytime. I wish and hope that it will happen soon and will shower some joy and will wash out some frustration.

Good luck

Being at the wrong place?

My friend started his labor in feb 2003 and got cleared in 5 months from IOWA (State + Regional) and I'm struggling here at Atlanta for almost 2 years.

It's unfair that some processing centres are extremely slow when compared to others. There should have been some sort of load balancing mechanism at the regional level to see that all centres process applications with reasonable time.

As this is not enough, TEXAS INS centre is again the slowest among all centres currently taking around 2-3 years to complete 140 and 485.

You are absolutely right sunny_sm. Same thing with one of my friend in IOWA. He got his EAD in 8 months from the day he applied for labor.

As most of us are working as contractors, to have a GC is must now to get a next assignment or permanent positions. Just because we are stuck in a sluggish center, we cannot plan anything.

GOD!!!!!
Either change center from Atlanta to IOWA (Chicago) OR transfer people from Chicago to Atlanta

Did anyone tried to call Mr. Goodman ?
I could not try as Long distance is not available at my work.

Will appreciate if anyone don't mind to give him a call and find out the reason, why Atlanta is so slow ?

As per my Guess, Atlanta is slow b'cos these Guys are not
separating application for RIR and NON-RIR and processing
both with the same speed.

Message from Mr.Goodman's office

My attorney spoke with Mr.Goodman's office and found that they are working on sep'2002 cases. According to the sources, they're working after hours at home and weekends as they have too much load and they're looking for more help !

They are working on first come first serve basis which means they're not separating RIR/Non-RIR. Had we knew this before, our company would have saved few thousand dollars on advertisements and waiting time.

I bet no body knows how the system works ?
