After a year of waiting my Asylum was finally approved ! God bless i applied in November 2012 was interviewed in January and it came in August i was just wondering to apply for a RTD Refugee Travel Document to see a friend of mine who is in canada.

Does anyone know if you need a visa on your RTD to visit canada for say 2 or 3 days or you can just use your RTD to visit canada ? remember i dont have a Green card yet !

Thanks

It probably depends on your country of birth and/or citizenship. You need to consult the Canadian Immigration folks about that.

SEE: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp Enter you native country in the search box (there is a drop-down list). IF you need a visa you will also likely need to supply biometrics.

Thank you big BigJoe5

The Website says it very clear : Holders of Alien’s passport and Stateless individuals require a visa to visit or transit in Canada.

I think its helpful that a topic about Traveling with RTD abroad be revisited now that a lot of immigration enviroments are changing
