AP Approval dates

AP applications WAC-03-173-XXXXX ND May 19, 2003, approved on Sept 25 for both myself and my wife

Also as an FYI, I had left US while my AP was pending. I am planning on using it rather than H1-B to re-enter

prashanthk's case which happens to be the same day as mine, got approved yesterday.

Are you out of the country right now?
If your visa is still valid, you might as well use it rather than AP.

Using AP may jeopardize your I-485

I've also seen posts that if you leave the country before AP is approved, your I-485 will be invalidated when you come back. Anybody shed some light on this?

Therefore, I agree with nimatramatra01 that using H-1B is the safest way.

RFE on AP

My RD for AP is 05/20/03
found out that on Sept 25th, BCIS has issued a RFE in my case.
Bad Luck!! But I'm glad things are moving.

How much time does it take for BCIS to approve an application once we reply to the RFE? Please help.

Thanks guys. I had re-entered US using AP last year but continued to work on H1-B approval notice. I had to travel abroad on company business this September(to India) and I used the approval notice and got a Visa Stamp from the US Embassy. I will use H1-B to re-enter US. I have asked my wife to courier the AP and will carry it along, just in case

Till 11:30am today the online message and the automated message over the phone indicated that my case wasn't approved yet.
Just now checked again, and its approved!!!!

Seems like they update the online system more than once in a day.
