Can you please post your timelines if you filed an-400 on or after 08/01/2007 and had your checks cashed. Just trying to get an idea how long it can take USCIS to encash my check. I had sent in my N-400 around 10/01/2007.

i sent my docs on august 8 to tsc,my pd should be aug.10. Money order has not been cashed yet.

VSC received my N400 on August 1, 2007. I was successfull today to talk to immigration officer and I was told to wait another two months bz VSC is up of neck with cases and N400 is the last priority for them

Also I tried to update my address with IO but was told to mail in Ar 11

I figure this way out that USCIS is least bothered with the concerns of many of us.

IO I spoke was acting like she is doing me a big favour totally rude and with a mission that I dont care ....

Wow, wait a minute...so now the expected receipting time is 20 weeks all of a sudden? They want you to wait another 2 months on top of the 3 months you've already waited???

My check was cashed by CSC on 10-29-07. They received my application on 8-21-07, so it took about 10 weeks. No sign of the receipt notice yet.

CSC and NSC have been cashing a lot of checks lately, as I'm sure you've already read on this forum. Have you been able to make out the number on the back of the check?

Unfortunately not. You see, I did a very stupid thing and used a cashier's check from a bank with my application, rather than just use a personal check. Not only do I not get the check back, but the cashier's check I used stated that it was "void after 90 days". This was why I was kind of sweating about check cashing dates in this and other forums. Fortunately I made it, with about 20 days to spare, but now I just have to wait for the receipt to come in the mail.

We'll see tomorrow (Friday) where CSC is in terms of issuing receipt notices once they publish their weekly statistics. I will post as soon as I receive anything in the mail.

I wouldn't say that using a cashier's check was a stupid thing! No one knew that this mess was going to happen. Besides, I dont keep a lot of money in my checking account, so, for over 2 months, I've had to monitor my checking account on a daily basis to make sure that I have a sufficient balance to cover the N-400 fee. You have the luxury of not having to deal with this nonsense. I can't wait to see the published dates tomorrow. If everything is actually going according to schedule, VSC has 35 more days to issue my receipt. I have, however, read another thread on this forum, where the poster who submitted their N-400 to TSC is going to hit 15 weeks sometime this week, and their check hasn't been cashed yet. So much for a 15 week timeframe.
