Hi,

If I am in the US on a TN and my husband accompanies me on a TD status can he attend school in the US? And then after school can he get his own TN even with his education from the US?

Depends on the job duties.

Can you explain further? We don't want him to go to school for a few years if he won't even qualify for a TN.

TN has certain pre-defined categories. As TRC said, the job description determines if it is a TN-eligible job. THEN, the academic and/or experience history of the candidate are examined to see if they are qualified for a TN.

So a bachelor's degree in computer science, couple witha a job offer as, say, a computer systems analyst, would qualify for TN. But a degree followed bty a job offer in sales or programming would not.

He should go over the TN list, decide which one he would best be suited for, and then pursue a degree in the related field of study.
