Hi, Can I use Alien registration number from my OPT into my I-485/EAD/Advance parole application. Do I need to leave it as blank? Please help.

write the A# if you had in past. on cover letter explain that the A# that you listed on form I-485 or I-131or I-765 is the A# that you got at the time of OPT and can explain your background, sign the letter with name, DOB, date

you can also choose to not use the old A#. you will be assigned a new A# and the old one will be purged from the USCIS system. your choice.

I wrote an old EAD based A-1 number on my I-485 materials but the disregarded it and replaced it with a new A-0 number. Either way, USCIS asks that you don't leave it blank, but write "none" instead.

I would strongly suggest against this. One of the best ways to get transferred for a local office interview (or at the very least delay your I-485 significantly) is to get USCIS to give you two Alien numbers, and consequently two A-files.

Thank you all for good advice. After reading all the post I think writing my old number and explain this in the cover letter would be the best option. Do you all agree?
