my wife and i went to the interview months ago and prior to that we were having problems but somehow we worked it out, anyway the whole thing reared its ugly head before the interview and she decided to withdraw the appilcation 1-485 for me,now im confused as i dont now what else to do, i came here from london, U.K on visa waiver but overstayed, then got married and didnt file for years ,i eventually did and now it sucks, what other option do i have if i want to stay here legally.i've already filed the divorce papers, thats been over

since you have filed for a divorce, you have no other choice but to find a new USC wife in order to legalize. UNless a deportation order has been issued for you, then you are in much bigger trouble.

Just pack you bags and go home to the UK, Then try coming back after 10 years because its going to be hard for you when you try to become legal thru another marriage.

Stix,
I agree with Letsien. The only way out is AOS thorgh marriage to a citizen. However, since you married a USC, filed an I-485 and that marriage ended in divorce before it was adjudicated, your "second" marriage and its AOS will be scrutinised under a microscope. Perhaps heading back to the UK would be the best option, however, that is your call to make.
