I took my oath at a USCIS ceremony this week.
Here's a partial list of what I observed.... not very well dressed, to say the least!
there were 60+ people taking oath(myself included)
nearly half of the men and women wore beach flip-flops(yes, it was a hot day, but flip-flops at an oath ceremony?
)
several men (Indian and a couple of Korean men) wore khaki-colored shorts.
3 men wore shirt/trousers/ties.
2 women(a Korean lady and a Columbian lady) wore silk white shirts with floral skirts)
the lady sitting next to me wore a tank top, with men's cargo pants.
4 crying babies.(mothers who came to ceremony alone with babies in strollers)
there was also a man and a woman wearing nice-looking business suit and pantsuit... (OH, BUT WAIT, they turned out to the USCIS districe office
director and his assistant who led us in taking the oath...
)
In case you were wondering, I myself wore a black shortsleeve shirt(no tie)
and white pants with big buckle, with my favourite snakeskin cowboy boots.
