Yes. The online message tells the date "additional documents were requested".

Yes. When I sent the reply to my RFE, my online message got updated with "reply for additional documents were received". But for my wife, it remained "RFE Sent".

3. What kind of documents TSC look for in case of RFE? EVL, W2s, tax returns, anything else?

The excel file in this thread pretty much covers all the different scenarios of RFE.

I did fax a letter to the fax number a month ago since my husband needed to go business travel and his AP was also pending. But I don't think that made any difference. My husband had to go to local office to get a temperoary AP.

Hi Houston485,

Did they issue the temporary AP ?.
My wife's AP was lost while sent from CIS.
what is the procedure to get a temp one in TSC ?.

Yes, my husband did get a temporary AP from Houston local office. What he had to do is to get all the necessory document sthat our lawyer had packaged for him and a letter from his employer state the urgency on his business travel. Then he went to local INS office and show them all the documents, they gave him a three month temporary AP. I hope this answered your question. I don't remember the details about all the documents he brought, but here are some of them:

1. AP renew received notice
2. 485 received notice
3. I-140 approval notice
4. Letter from Employer
5. Passport
6. Two photos
7. Current valid EAD card

Bajis had already replied to the same query that you posted yesterday.
But if you are looking for a second opinion, here it is :
1.Online status is updated to show that RFE was issued
2.After they receive the RFE documents, they update the status to say documents have been received.
3.RFE is usually for EVL, paystubs, W2s, tax returns. Sometimes they also ask for evidence of legal status. The excel sheet would tell you what documents have been requested from various applicants.

Hi,
Did anyone get their case being approved by officer #255 lately? Or else is there anyone waiting for their approval by officer # 255? Our RFE responses were recived on 3/1/2004. But, since then, nothing has happened. Do we need to send a fax to officer # 255 asking him/her about our case status? I've seen most of them being approved within, a weeks time after their RFE response by Officer # 255.

I'm waiting for approval from officer #255 too. I was optimistic about an approval since this officer used to approve cases within 10 days of having received the documents.
Wish I could tell you why he/she hasn't approved our cases yet, but my guess is as good as yours.
I'm not sure what our options now, but I know that if there is no update after 60 days, we can send them a query.
Contractorrfe and Waitinging are the others from this forum waiting on officer #255.

Thanks! I was going through the post by Houston485T, regarding her lawyer filing an inquiry to ask the status of their case. Do we have to wait for 60 days before we send a fax/letter to off # 255 or can we send one right away?

I am on the same boat. RFE Ack by #255 on 3/17/04 and nothing happened since then. My lawyer told me we have to wait for 60 days to file an inquiry, they will not response even if you file one now.

Sorry to reply late. I'm very busy today. You don't have to make an appointment and just walk in. My husband went to the office around 1:00 PM and was out of them around 3:30 PM. So I think it was not too bad.
 
RFE

My case is handled by Officer #69. The status on the online system changed on March 15th 2004. I received it on March 23rd 2004. RFE is acknowledged on March 26th 2004. Officer has requested Employment letter, paystubs, w2, tax forms and photo. I don't know what is the typical processing time for such RFE any inputs welcome

RFE Acknowledged March 26th 2004

How long does it normally take for the RFE letter to be rec'd after the status change?
The RFE for my 485 was mailed out on Mar 17, and still haven't rec'd it yet (it's been 2wks)

My RFE was mailed out on 3/11, however, my lawyer in Dallas hasn't got it yet. Nothing I can do except waiting until 4/12.
