Interesting... For me they retained FP notice and returned the filled form with their signature (QA) as a receipt of FP. This is again at Hartford CT.

I guess it just does not matter as long as your LUD chanages and the status changes to "Fp Results received and Processing resumed".

Returned ORIGINAL FP Notice and Completed FP form at Boston

At BOS, they returned the orginal FP notice from USCIS and the form which I filled. Ofcourse, they put a seal and date/timestamp/signature on it.

Can your Adjustment of Status Application be approved before your priority date become current for visa numbers (i.e, if you are subject to EB3 retrogression)

whats LUDs? How to track it?

Folks,
I got my FP taken on 03/08/2005.
The status on my 485 is the same as before FP were done per USCIS
website. Is it normal?
I have seen almost every one who had FP done has LUD change.
How n where can i keep track of LUDs on my I-485's?

Labor (NH) : 02/2004 | 06/2004

No theoritically it can't be..
But it is INS after all..There are some cases which got approved that way as well..Most of the cases get tagged for retrogression and wait there until date becomes current

From what i have seen in this forum, there will be 2 -3 LUD changes after your FP is done, without any change in message. Around 5 - 7 days after your FP, there will LUD change with a change in message saying something like 'FP received.... Processing resumed', something of that sort. Since you have not reached that threshold date, it should be ok.
To track the LUDs, what people generally do in this forum is to
  • Create a signature for your user id
  • Add your application filing details
  • Add LUDs like LUD1 : <date> LUD2 etc, whenever you see a change in LUD

LUD Changes

I am not sure what you are asking... If you are asking how to know when Last Updated Date changes on your case, then do the following...

1. Go to "https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp"
2. Register your self on this web site
3. Then Register your 485 case in your portfolio.

You can track your last updated date changes and you can also get e-mail when your case moves from one state to another.

Hi july022004,
I have already followed the instructions listed in your response about
2 days after FP were done(03/08/3005). i ,e., i have registered my 485
on the website "https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp"
on 03/10/2005 i.e, one day after LUD. Yes, i see LUD updated on 03/09/2005
but no any email from USCIS about status change etc., But here is the thing:
Once i added my 485, it gave me a check box , adjacent to my case info,
and i followed the instructions as described below on that page:
""To request e-mail notification about a particular case, check the box to
the left of an application receipt number and click the 'E-mail On' button""

but when I logged back in, the check box is still left unchecked,
Isn't the check box already checked, as i have requested earlier
to recieve email notifications to be on ???

Mine is Eb2 too was filed in May 2004 .. still waiting for I140
 
FP done

Went to the service center around 12.00 in Silver Spring MD. Had documentys that i was traveling the scheduled date and was able to get FP done by 1.00.

EB2 , MD
I140/485 - April 13 , 20004
FP done - March 12. 2005
I 140 - AD - March 02, 2005
485 - waiting :)
 
Getting EAD does not mean that you are on EAD

Many of you have applied for EAD and got one. Getting EAD and using EAD are the total different things. Getting EAD does never indicate that you are working on EAD.

Say compnay A has filed your H1 and you are still with company A and your h1 visa has not expired. No meaning of getting EAD because even if you have EAD still you are on h1. In this case your spouse gets befinit of EAD (if he/she is on h4)

EAD is activated only when you do part time job (still you are full time employed by company A) or do job for new company (requirement : 140 approved + 485 pending more < 180 days (not sure from the filing date or after your 140 is approved))

Once your EAD is activated then you are no longer on h1 and you need AP to enter US.

I spend about $600 - 700 (get 2 eads and APs) then I learned about this. So just don't rush for EAD if your job is stable and h1 is not going to expire soon.
 
Check E-Mail column. If it says "Y" against your 485 case then your e-mail is on for 485. After you cilck the "e-amil on " button, the check box would get deselected and remain that way. When the status of the case changes only then you will get the e-mail. Your next message "should" be something like "Your FP results were recived on so and so date... Processing of your case has resumed...". This generates an e-mail.

Remember... each LUD change does not generate e-mail.

LUD's on 485 after FP

4 to 5 luds even more on 485 after msg chg lud is common ....

Usually 2 to 3 luds immediatly after msg chg and 2 to 3 more after one or two months...

GJK share your thoughts on this...

I am following your analysis. Check VSC 485 forum, people have done some research on LUD for 485 approval.

for i-485 TSC/NSC have multiple LUDS while VSC couple....I have observed this pattern...

2 LUDS after biometric
3rd LUD + Msg change (some cases within week or about 20 days)
4th/5th LUD one/two days following 3rd LUD
5th/6th LUD usually 15 to 20 days after 4th/5th
7th LUD + approval immediatly after 5th/6th.....

I have learned this from many signatures..only...
