As I see it, CRIS is another handle that USCIS use to send out email, nothing different than the regular one.

Thanks Eric. We all tend to analyse every little thing to get some hopes or atleast stay well informed to avoid any further delays in our cases, hence the curiosity.

I-485 Rfe

Hi All,

I got an RFE on my I-485 to provide w-2 and tax returns. DO I need provide transcripts from IRS for the tax returns or is it sufficient to provide the tax return copy that the tax filing software prints. Any one who had a similar RFE please share your exprience.

One of the requested item for my RFE was w-2's and tax returns. I have submited copies of tax returns i got from HR block. I got 485 approved without any problem. But I think it is better you also send IRS transcripts. It will not take more than a week to get that thru mail.

Update

Congratulations for all the approvals!!

I got approval notices by regular mail today for me and my wife. Web site was not updated with the approved status for my wife. Will be taking infopass appointment for next week.

I am travelling to India Me and my wife have our GC but my son only has PP stamping and my daughter has her advance parole , Do we need transit visa for paris I am travelling by Air France .Please reply asap as we are leaving satuarday

The rule is quite simple. If you are not a permanent resident (green card holder) and do not have a valid US visa stamped in your passport, you will need a transit visa (they do not check it at at all is another matter..).

Thanks for the reply ravi. Congrats on your approval. I have ordered the transcripts from IRS and hopefully be getting it soon. Just was wondering why your case was transferred to local office in california. Was that because of the address change?
 
I have no idea why they transfered to local office. Usually there will be an interview when they transfer the case. But in my case they approved without any interview.

any persons who recently completed FP in Alexandria VA please share your experience. I am planning to give a shot for early FP this weekend. I am actually scheduled for Aug 3rd....i will give a shot this weekend and try to get it done so that me and my spouse can save a work day. will appreciate if you guys can share your experience with us.

We got a lot of e-mail notices for this approval. Before my RD crossed the
published date, I did not do any call. After published date crossed my RD,
I called VSC several times and they just told me that name check was
received, my case was being reviewed and I should receive sth within
30 days.

Hi Gurus,
I would like to know the procedure for applying EAD and AP. My 485 has been pending since 12/2004. I also have a question. My wife is on her own h1. I dont think I would have to apply EAD and AP for her right? I dont think she would switch employment as its a nice full time position.

My current 485 case status says as below:
"On July 19, 2005, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case.
If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date,
please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Is there a cause of concern ?? if yes, should i ask my attorney who filed
my 485 to respond to such a request or should i handle myself?

Are these w-2 and tax returns for all years or just the years one worked
for one's present employers who filed GC?

I really appreciate your help and info on this.

Birth Certificate Issue. Please Help...

My wife and I are ready to apply for our I-485 application, our birth certificates are ready as does all the other required papers. In the birth certificates (for both of us), it shows on the only the first name with our respective parents' name (full name).

My lawyer says that their may be an RFE on that at later stage and wants us to get "Non-availability of birth affidavit". I have two questions:

1) Does anybody has experienced this before? If yes, then, please share. IS just the first name on the birth certificate an issue with CIS?
2) If I have to get this "affidavit', where and how do I get it?

I would really appreciate your responses on the issue.
