What is name check?

Based on the above message can i assume my name check is done ?
Sorry i did not keep track of the LUD Changes.

I am in the same boat. (been silently following this forum for many months)

What is name check and will there be an LUD for the same?
If it is stuck which agency do I contact /push?

Any advise will be helpful. Guru's, any predictions for me?
Can somebody update the tracker with my info as well?

FP done for both 02/26/05
LUD saying FP results recieved on 03/07/05(for both)
No movement after that

Called USCIS on 5/20/05 and sent an inquiry on the case.
 
Name Check

After 9/11/2001, the applicant's names for AOS/Immigration are being checked in following database
- FBI (FP & Biometric/Biographic Information)
- CIA (Biographic Information)
- Other Agencies
There is no clue, how does it work?. Only a few documents indicates the above workflow.

It could be a day/week/month/year. No control over the process. Better wait for enough time before you initiate a query.
 
You might want to know:

Nowadays, more number of people are receiving I-485 approval notices. Additionally, some of them also receive fingerprint notices after their I-485 has been approved. The AILA has been advised by the USCIS HQ that such notice is not a mistake. Even if their I-485 is approved, once they receive a fingerprint notice, they should appear at the ASC to provide new biometric identifiers. This includes children. If the I-485 approved minor children receive a fingerprint notice, they should appear at ASC! Those who ignored such fingerprint notices may want to immediately contact the USCIS to reschedule the fingerprinting.
 
Is 485 approval link to spouse ND date ?

Is 485 approval link to spouse ND date ?. Is this delaying my case ??? Bcaz my wifes ND was July 20, 2004 (Not current yet). But I am the primary petitioner. Did any one has same kind of issue ???
 
MTR case approved....

Hi friends,
We got our I485 approved on may10. we were on two weeks vacation and got the approval notices in land mail on may18th...but till now no updates in case status or no approval emails...it was really a nice surprise to see the approval letters.No LUD changes too till now...
Thanks to eveyone in this forum who gave great strength during our tough periods...support from the friends here were very helpful...thanks again to all.
our's was a AC21 case and MTR case...
MTR was approved on mar23 and I485 approved on may10...

It was really a tough time for you with all the mixup in H1 and 485 denial and 140 revocation. Good to see that you made it.
See, I said you will not get any RFE on top of what you already had ;) Enjoy!
 
Though I am not an expert here, but I faced the same problem. But I found that the best times for success are in the morning around 9:00 AM. So keep trying again. The chance of success is less as the day progresses.

Hopefully, by now, you must have already got an appointment.

SOS--SOS--485 Cleared ,passport stamped but no I140 Still pending

Hi Gurus...!
Need ur advice desperatly..
I got my 485 cleared..got my passport stamped and second fingure printing done...and for my wife the msg has changed to "Cards posted"..not for me though...BUT MY I140 STILL NOT APPROVED.............
I asked my attorney and this is what he says

"We have never had this happen before. The I-140 is not approved so even if you get the cards it doesn’t mean that it cleared. We’re not really sure what to do here, I will get back to you. Thanks!"

Do u guys agree to this.....
Please advice..should i talk to USCIS..the last time i talked they asked me to ask my Attorney/company to call and my attorney told me that she did talked to them and they did a case status check ..but so far nothing..

do i have to wait for I140 approval...........
PLEASE ADVICE...!

Update on post FP LUDs

Hi,
For both me and my spouse LUDs changed on 05/20/05. For my wife's case the msg. changed to 'FP Results Received..on the 05/18/05..Resume..'. But for me the msg did not change.

Any idea? Gurus please throw some light on this.

AC21 risky?

Could you please explain what went wrong with AC21 and how you got it straightened ? Do you think it is risky to change job even after 6 months of 140 approval? I have been thinking of AC21 since I am stuck in EB3 retrogression. Anybody else had any experience with AC21 going bad? Thanks.

I am sure you know this, but just to remind you that AC21 can be claimed if I 140 is approved and I 485 is pending adjudication for more than 6 months.
It is NOT related to 6 months passing after the I 140 is approved.

My I-140 approved. Got an email from my attorney, they received the approval notice today. The website status is not updated till now!!
So, guys do not rely on LUDs.
 
Guys:

I dont post much (just read) on this forum ... cause I dont have much hapenning at my end.

I applied I140 in Feb 2005. My attorney received a RFE - it took a long time for it to reach him - the message on the website had changed a longtime ago.

the RFE say it is about Ability to Pay - I wanted to know what is this about. My attorney has not asked any documents from me but says he will work with the employer and take care of the same.

What is this Abilitu of Pay RFE ?

Thanks for reminding. I have heard that, but still had the feeling that 6 months from 140 approval is somehow safer. It could be just an old belief refusing to go away. I will work on it!
