zamq,

Looks like USCIS is madly in love with your case - first NY and now Vermont!

P.S. Don't worry - they care for me too. :D

To Jharkhandi

Hi Jharkhandi:

Thank you for answering all the questions that we have on this forum..

I have a couple of questions for you.. I would highly appreciate it if you can shed some light:

1- Please refer to my details in my signature. I applied for I140 and I485 concurrent -Sub Labor first week of may 2004. I look at the tracker and I find lots of apporvals for February, March 2004, then August, September, and so on. As if USCIS skipped the period of April and May... What do you think?

2-I am a Canadian citizen.. my PD is 1999. How does that affect the processing of my application when compared with others?

3- In the previous couple of messages there was a mention of retrogression.. what does that mean?

4- I did finger printing when I got my EAD (since it was late .. I went and obtained a temp EAD from the local immigration office) and they took my finger prints.. do you think they will ask for more fingerprinting?

Thank you so much for all your assistance.. This is a great forum for getting questions answered and having a support system :)

I guess you are asking about EB2 cases (not so evident from your signature but is evident from excitement in your post).

If I see everyone getting FP notice - I would say - most likely all are headed for concurrent adjudication. (not because they are good looking or put lots of smileys in their post, but because USCIS decided to give them a break.). Concurrent adjudication has lost its meaning but now it could be 4 mins gap in emails to 4 weeks.

2-I am a Canadian citizen.. my PD is 1999. How does that affect the processing of my application when compared with others?

For Eb2 - it won't matter as none of the categories has retrogressed, so do keep good terms with your Indian/Chinese boss, if he is also in the EB2 queue. When he goes out for his lunch - do not look at his seat and think - couple of weeks more and then I can ... ;)

3- In the previous couple of messages there was a mention of retrogression.. what does that mean?

Every country has a quota for immigrant visa per year, say X. If X+Y applications arrive in VSC (or rather to USCIS), they will put a hold on Y number of cases. These Y number of cases are ones which were applied after the cutoff date. This scenario is retrogression.

P.S. You will be added to country quota depending on place where you are born. For example - if you were born in India - you will be counted under Indian quota and not Canadian quota.

4- I did finger printing when I got my EAD (since it was late .. I went and obtained a temp EAD from the local immigration office) and they took my finger prints.. do you think they will ask for more fingerprinting?

Yes.

Thank you so much for all your assistance.. This is a great forum for getting questions answered and having a support system :)

I need support too - going out for coffee.

Real Thought......

This is what I think many times....

We all came here with two bags.....even if we have to leave US we have India to stay and live....we will losse nothing because when we will go back with two full bags.....

but think about US natives.....if economy is bad they cannot think of leaving US......

You are right......

All will get GC soon and retrogation will be over soon...because like last time...unused quota was trasnferred for India/Chi/Phli.....

I am also waiting for Finger prints. do they send finger prints same day for all in each center or different days ??
I mean here I saw few people got FPs in Hartford/CT center date 03/18/05. thats the only one day per month or do they give different days ? any idea ?
