2003 Consolidated Tracker ONLY (140/EAD/AP/FP/485)

Can somebody shed some light on the "name check" process.
1. Is it done with FP or is it an independant process?
2. Is it a bottle-neck typically ?
3. Is the status/result of name check updated on online case status?

Is it going to be of any use if I again send letter to him.

Me and my wife both received RFE notice through email today. Can any one tell me what it might be concerning. Thnaks for yor input.

Name Check is request made by INS to FBI for you background check. This request is usually sent with in 2 months of I485 application submission and is cleared on the same day by FBI, but for some reason some of them get stuck for a very long period (in my case 22 months). This will impact you I485 approval. INS will not approve you I485 until they receive the info from FBI.

The status of the name check will not be update on the online case status.

You can only hope so. Noting is guranteed. Trying will not hurt. This is my opinion.

Try call the lady i mentioned. She might help you.
 
Rfe 485

I received RFE ..they are asking for medical, EVL , paystub ,Tax resturns , W2 , passport copy . Not sure why they would have asked for all these.
We did submitt everything with 485 except medical.

How can we find if a 485 case is stuck in name check. How do you guys figured out that your 485 was stuck in name check .

Usually your I485 should get cleared with in 4-3 months from the date of FP submission. If your I485 Case has not yet been cleared after 3-4 months of FP submission then you can conclude that your back ground check has been delayed(Name check). To find out if you name check has been cleared or not send the following info to FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov

First name,Middle name,last name,date of birth,A# and email address.

You will get a reply in 2 to 3 months.

Mine is June 2003 (I-485).
All done : 140, FP, EAD, AP etc.
Stuck at Name Check : frustrating :mad: :mad: :mad:
More frustrating is that there are no approvals of late !!!
Any one is getting approvals ??????????

My GC Journey ends today. Thanks a lot to all the people in the form. Due to the info posted by many participants in the form I was able to follow up and get my Name check cleared. My name check was stuck with FBI for about 20 months and was cleared on Feb 9 2005. MY I-485 was cleared today(march 04 2005).

I-485 - RD 06/26/2003, ND 07/09/2003, AD 03/04/2005
Name Check sent to FBI 07/31/2003, Cleared on 02/09/2005.

I-485 for my wife and kid pending Approval.

Processing date is 1/29/04 now

Guys,

The current processing date for I485 is 1/29/04 now.
Which means all of us who are waiting in this forum are already eligible for enquiry with the BCIS to figure out what's going on.

When you enquire with BCIS, send emails etc, please do keep this forum updated with your experience.

Also, is it already time for us to start sending the "Name Check" emails?

Finally I got my Finger Printing Done on 2/22/05. Is Name check is part of this or it is seperate from Finger printing.
Does any know what is the time lines we are looking...
