Question : expected time to process application

My received notice from INS for I140 and 485. They metioned to process this type of case from 90 to 365 and 485 to 540 respectively. While checking the online it says 90 to 485 and .. to 540 respectively. Which one do I expect from INS that they approve my case. either Notice from INS or Online ?

I would go by the online status since that is I guess more up-to-date. But I won't trust anything from USCIS unless I see the approval in hand!!

One of the best sources of information is probably the tracker (spreadsheet) associated with this thread. It shows that the "sweet spot" for I-140 approvals at the VSC is at about April 2003 currently.

The info at https://egov.immigration.gov/graphics/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=Vermont is updated about every 2 weeks, although nobody is too sure how they arrive at their dates :).

You can also use www.immigrationwatch.com to get an estimate for your case based on a statistical analysis of recent approvals.

I'd allow around 1 year for the I-140 and about 2 years for the I-485 based on current trends. There's some indication that things might be speeding up -- let's keep our fingers crossed.

The VSC processing dates website is supposed to be updated today right? Hope they make some headway into the 140 cases...

Wow -- did you have an RFE at some point? As far as I know, VSC is currently at about July 02 for EB2 I-140's so you either got lucky or you got an RFE (which seems to result in the case being processed soon after).

Hi ETA-GC,

I don't know if what you are saying is correct.
I filed in EB2 RIR Category. And I did NOT get any RFE.

VSC is in July 2002 for EB2 NIW. EB2 RIR is somewhere between March 2003 and July 2003. rajababu got it without RFE, and so are many people in the same ND range.

While some people like me (ND April16, 2003) are still waiting for the verdict!!!
 
Double bonanza

I cannot believe my luck .........

Today morning I found that my 140 got approved on 3rd april. In the afternoon I found that my EAD got approvedon 5th April.

485/ EAD/ AP RD 10/30/2003.

EAD approved on 04-05-2004. No RFE's.

Wasn't the service center processing dates website supposed to be updated today, it's every 2 weeks right, it was last updated on March 22, and today is 2 weeks from then. God know what's up with Vermont center....
