Just got this!
Current Status:
On February 15, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is...
I hope you did not get married yet. You are not considered divorced until it has been finalized and you receive the final decree. If you did get married...it is not immigration law you violated. I believe polygamy is outlawed in all 50 states....it has nothing to do with immigration...
My husband was approved and his passport was stamped 1/18/2006. His online status hasn't been "touched" AT ALL...no welcome letter...no card. Normally I really wouldn't worry....but I know someone who had an interview a week after us....online status changed within two days...got letter... Is...
You can withdraw the application.....afterall YOU are the petitioner and he is the beneficiary. Go to the USCIS and tell them you wish to withdraw your applications because you are in the process of divorcing him...which involves a required seperation. Seriously, don't let him use you like...
I think it used to take two weeks are so.......BUT there have been TONS of approvals in the Atlanta DO...think about all the approvals on this board alone....I wouldn't be surprised if the two month period is right....our interview was 1/18 - nothing still....
Could he go get police clearances from all U.S. jurisdictions he has lived in the past five years? I know someone on this board or another board did that....and they took that as the clearance.
Is it me or does there seem to be a high number of folks starting to use this board who are entering into marriages to USC for papers? I have seen three in the past week. Those of us that freak out the with the amount of paperwork required to "prove" our real marriages should take offense to...
If a suitor is interested in marrying you for papers....that is marriage fraud - plain and simple. Do not ask advice about how to break the law on this forum. While your situation does completely suck....entering into a fraudulent marriage isn't the way to go.
Sounds like you are planning on marriage fraud. Something most of us on this board don't look too kindly on. If you are marrying for papers.....you are entering into a fraudulent marriage. Fraudulent marriages cause the rest of us to jump through hoops to prove our real marriages. I am sorry...
Married to a U.S. Citizen? My experience only pertains to you if you are...
The Priority Dates listed online for both the VISA and AOS (via marriage to US citizen) are about a year before our priority date....my husband just got his green card this week! I lost faith altogether in the...
They said 60-90 days for the plastic card. I really liked having a lawyer...she had prepared all of the paperwork which made the officer's job a lot easier. You don't really need one...but my husband had a DUI so that kind of freaked us out. Turned out not to be an issue though....
One...
Yeah - you should get it any time now! They are definitely moving in Atlanta...10 months for my husband's GC...it is a miracle ;)
Good luck...you should get notice soon!
Sva2006....
Hmmmm I would press them on that. My officer went out into the hall and had the supervisor sign off on it....it shouldn't take that long. I am sorry you had to cancel your flight...that is a real bummer.
My husband got his green card stamp today at the Atlanta District Office. To be honest, I worried more than I needed to. Here is a summary of the interview:
Got to the interview on time with attorney - 1:50...appointment was at 2:00
Officer: This shouldn't take long....you'll be in and...
Don't sweat it. My husband had one DUI in 2003 and our attorney said to answer no to the question. Technically, the first DUI is consider a traffic violation...repeated DUIs are a different story though...
You look pretty well covered. I don't have have a lot of what you have. My attorney said it was fine though because I have legitimate reasons. Example:
No Joint Bank Account: I bank through the brokerage firm I work with. I have a print out that clearly states ONLY U.S. citizens and...
