You better pay the extra money to get the passport expediated, because I applied my passport early last month and just received it more than 4 weeks. Remember from now to Jan, the process may slow down because of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Good Luck!
I took the Oath on Nov 14, 2006 at San Francisco and dropped my passport application at the same place after the Oath ceremony was done. However until now, I still haven't received my passport yet and the on-line status said it will take 6 weeks and I should receive it on/before 12/31/06. But...
I think it doesn't matter for 1 or 2 checks but I used 2 checks and the $330 check I wrote "Application Fee" on memo and $70 check I wrote "Fingerprint". :)
It's $400 and do not refer to N-400 guide (it said $390). I first filed $390 ($320+$70) and 2 weeks later got the return mail from the office. It said the current fee should be $330+$70=$400. ;)
To OverOverOver:
Regarding "P.S. I did not even report my traffic tickets which the fines under $500 ( by the new regulation). And the interview officer did not even bother to ask me. I took the oath the very next day." Where did you find out the new regulation and can you please provide the...
On N-400 Part 1, it asks you to write your Legal name and then your name exactly as it appears on your PR card. My question is on my PR card only shows my last name and first name (which is my English name) but legal first name on SS# is my full English (e.g. Paul) and Chinese (translated into...
Does anyone know if I forgot to submit the form AR-11 (Address change), will it affect my citizenship applying? Since on the N-400 you need to fill out the address you lived for the past 5 years and if I did not file AR-11, will they find out and question? Will they reject my application...
Before i took the test, they already asked me to take fingerprint for background check. If that mean i can waive another background check after i finished the test?
My friend would like to know if he's a US GC holder and also Canadian PR but most of time he stay in US. So he wants to know if he needs to go back to Canada, which status he should use? US GC or Canadian PR? If he use US GC, will the Canadian officer notfiy he also holds Canadian PR?
My concern is if I use US GC to enter Canada (by air), will they find out I'm also Canadian PR? Will Canada share information w/ USA? Can anyone suggest what status I should use to enter Canada from USA? Thanks! :)
How long for the test?
I would like to ask usually the test will take how many hours? How many questions? By writing or verbal? Is that just finish the test and can leave the office? And, is that everyone need to show the passport to the officer before/after the test? Thanks!
To melhiw: I would like to ask when you went to take Oath test, did they ask you to provide any supporting documents, such as medical card, bank card, SSI card, etc.? Thanks! :)
I'm still waiting for citizenship test notice since last May. My question is now should I apply PR Card first and keep waiting for the test notice or wait until end of this year to apply PR card if I still don't receive any notice? I landed in 1998 and according CIC I need to apply PR card in...
