I am just curious, what would be the "last" message shown in the N400 case status after someone has become a citizen?

After the oath, does a person become a US citizen immediately? Or such person will become citizen only after he/she gets the passport? Very confused. If someone becomes citizen right after oath, why would so many people be in a hurry to apply for passport? Thank you.
