My 2 cents I wouldn't use the fillable form. It causes confusion. For example, it does not let you have two current jobs in the form. I have two jobs, but the fillable Acrobat form forced me to enter an end-date for the second job (You cannot type "present") and so it caused confusion ....

I got a lawyer because they do this process for a lot of people, so it's less likely that you would miss something if you had an attorney. ...especially if you are busy at work.

When FBI says "the name-check is pending", what does that mean? It's pending what? pending review? pending investigation? in the queue and have not been looked at due to backlogs? Is it clear to anyone? any lawyers out there? Please share ideas, Thanks

No, she said they check every month to see if the response has come back. This background check starts as soon as you submit the application even before the fingerprint. So it does not initiate after the interview.

From my experience, the 100 questions would suffice. For the test, 10 multiple choice questions are already printed on a sheet of paper and from those 100 questions. Very easy. Best of luck

Maybe, after FBI, they check with other agencies such as CIA for name check. FBI check is for criminal records. Also, I have heard it takes few weeks before the update shows up on the USCIS mainframe.

From what I have read in this and other forums, name check takes several months, more importantly, the local office does not contact you right after they get a response back from FBI. So, probably, it would not be a bad idea to call up FBI and ask them if they received your name check request...
