A Techie Tip to save your N400 application to disk!

My 2 cents I wouldn't use the fillable form. It causes confusion. For example, it does not let you have two current jobs in the form. I have two jobs, but the fillable Acrobat form forced me to enter an end-date for the second job (You cannot type "present") and so it caused confusion ....

WBC, The best way to deal with it is to go about your life without thinking about. If you focus on it too much, you become obsessed with it, then it'll agitate you. Is not getting your oath hindering an essential process in your life? if not, why bother ...

    Paging ERIC711

I called this number 1-202-324-3000, and then they gave me a fax number to send the request through fax. In the fax I mentioned I wanted a letter to my address. 10 days later, I got a letter from them. But they may not do security check on you since you are married. In the case of married...

Oh, By the way, the test is multiple choice. So it's even easier. The alternative answers to the correct one are so obviously wrong. It could not be easier!

Hi WBC, 1. Yes, it's on paper and very easy. It's not verbal 2.You should be back by noon. When you go, you drop your appointment letter in a slot next to the appointment room and sit outside along with other in front of a half mirror window. They call you around the appointment time...

    120-day response law, N400

I found this on http://www.worldlawdirect.com/ article/777/How_to_become_a_U.S._citizen.html did we waive that 120 day law when we signed papers during the interview, without knowing it? BCIS examiners are required to make a decision concerning your naturalization within 120 days after...

Security/Name Check after the Citizenship Interview

When FBI says "the name-check is pending", what does that mean? It's pending what? pending review? pending investigation? in the queue and have not been looked at due to backlogs? Is it clear to anyone? any lawyers out there? Please share ideas, Thanks

    Paging ERIC711

No, she said they check every month to see if the response has come back. This background check starts as soon as you submit the application even before the fingerprint. So it does not initiate after the interview.

    Paging ERIC711

From my experience, the 100 questions would suffice. For the test, 10 multiple choice questions are already printed on a sheet of paper and from those 100 questions. Very easy. Best of luck

    Paging ERIC711

Don't worry. It'll be fine. The officer told me that I had passed the test but a decision cannot be made at this time. My case is awaiting FBI background check. If you or your wife are getting USC through marriage, make sure you take your tax returns with you. They ask for those as an indicator...

Just passed the interview today in San Diego...

Maybe, after FBI, they check with other agencies such as CIA for name check. FBI check is for criminal records. Also, I have heard it takes few weeks before the update shows up on the USCIS mainframe.

Example for what timelines mean at USCIS website

Just passed the interview today in San Diego...

From what I have read in this and other forums, name check takes several months, more importantly, the local office does not contact you right after they get a response back from FBI. So, probably, it would not be a bad idea to call up FBI and ask them if they received your name check request...
