the only thing I can think of is that our original approval notice actually were sent to my employer, not my lawyer or us. very strange. but that was what happened. We do receive a copy, but don't know whether they take copy for stamping

no. regular thing, check the computer, stamp and boom, go. I was a little concerned and asked the lawyer what would happen. He said, since you can not predict when the approval would happen, this should not be a problem at all.

I remember there was a thread regarding this. Just want to share personal experience on this: My spouse was abroad, while our 485 was approved. Came in with no problem.

Mine is similar to Yager's. 1st expired on 1/15, second starts from 1/3. Also, although me and my spouse filed together, our dates are totally different both in EAD and AP. It all depends.
