Name Check timeline Based on recent Chinese Cpers' experiences, FBI took anywhere from 5 weeks to 4 months to complete the Name Check. It took FBI 115 days to complete mine, and then 5 additional weeks for the results to reach GUZ. Presently, I am waiting for interviewing appointment.

As I understand from other Cpers, Indian Consulate only does Name Check randomly, as for Chinese Cpers, every body is subjected to name check, no exception.

The Pkt 3 Supplemental Information Sheet asks for GUZ, VISA Category, Name in Chinese, Chines Standard Telegraphic Code, Current mailing address and Date of Marriage, in additional to DS 230 and Instructions to acquire other pertinent docs. such as police, marriage, birth certs etc., for interview.

That explains why the India Cpers can predict their interview timelines after NVC sent the files to the India Consulates. For all the visa cases in China, we can not predict how long this would take to conclude the security checks, I wonder why they only randomly conduct security checks on...
