Name Check Problem for Chinese CPers

Only recently did I realize that there is a "Name Check" problem for Chinese CPers. I don't know exactly what "Name Check" do, but it looks like a security check enforced by Dept of State (DOS). This procedure could take as long as 8 months according to serveral cases I saw, which imposes a significant delay.

I know most people on this board are Indians and I never heard anyone talk about this issue. So I wonder whether Indian CPers have to go thru this procedure or it is just very fast for Indians that doesn't deserve discussion.

I chose CP to save time but feel so frustrated to see this damn new procedure.
 
Name Check

I had gone through the Name Check Process in Mumbai , India. It delayed me for one month but i am not sure about in china.

Time table for a Chinese CPer

Thank you VinCP. Here I got a time table for a Chinese CPer. The name check takes 6 months and the total time for CP after I140 is about 1year plus two months. This is too slow compared with you Indian guys. I just don't understand why name check takes so long for Chinese CPers and there are even two-rounds of check!

By the way, what causes your delay? Is it because you are working in some sensitive areas?

(1). I-140 (EB1-OR) approved by INS-CSC: 2-26-2002
(2). PK-3 received from NVC: 7-15-2002
(3). PK-3 forwarded to GUZ: 9-11-2002
(4). GUZ 1st-submission: 9-18-2002
(5). GUZ Re-submission: 1-18-2003
(6). Security-check cleared: 3-22-2003
(7). Interview date: 04-17-2003
 
As I understand from other Cpers, Indian Consulate only does Name Check randomly, as for Chinese Cpers, every body is subjected to name check, no exception.
