My family left US with I551 stamp on their passports. After they left, the Green Cards arrived. Do I need to send the Green Card over to them for them to enter the US.
Given the equal status of I551 stamp and Green Card, I don't think this should be an issue. But just want to make sure...
I am going to fly through Vancouver to my home country. I have a stamp on my passport only, waiting for the physical card to come. Do I need a Visa for transit in Canada? Anyone has any experience for that?
My I485 was recently approved and my passport got stamped, and I am still waiting for my Green Card to come. I need to transit in Vancouver. Do I need to apply for a Canada Visa for this purpose?
I had very bad experience with Canadian Immigration Officer years ago when I flied into...
Thanks. I finally got all appointments after having waited for a while. This really does not make sense since many I485 applications have family members. Well few things from USCIS make logic sense.
Error message from infopass
Both my dependents and I got I485 approval. I think I need to make 3 appointments. I got one appointment. When I proceeded for the other two, after I input and confirmed names and birthdays, I got an error message saying that "you cannot make appointment at this...
Finally, it is my turn to say "yes I was approved". Just got the email notice.
Both myself and dependents. No RFE, no single date change for my kid who does not need finger printing. Date changed once for my spouse and me last June after finger printing.
For those fellow Aug. filers, here...
Do you need the lawyer with you at stamping?
Just got my email approval notice (aug 2003).
Guess stamping is just a piece of cake. Any questions asked during the
stamping? Any need for the presence of a lawyer? (I already paid it; might
as well use the service, I figured, if it is...
Hello, all
Just wondering if there is any difference (hopefully, a bit faster) for the 2nd revalidation
of H1B visa with the State Department. Anyone
has such experience? Thanks in advance.

People are talking a lot about switching from AOS to CP. I am
wondering the opposite due to some reasons.
My I-140 specified CP, what should I do to switch from CP to
AOS. The I-140 (EB1-OR) approval notice says the approved
petition has been sent to NVC.
What do I need to do to...
I have posted this question in the I485 thread, but it seems that
most people there use lawyers (maybe EB2 and EB3 applicants
have company lawyers do it).
I have looked through I485 forms and procedures and
found it rather routine. I am wondering why so many people
spending thousands of...
It seems to me that I-485 related documents are not very
complicated. If laywers charge about 1,000 for this, I am
wondering if I could do it myself.
Are there good websites on the complete list of documents
that are required? Is a cover letter needed? and what's the
format if it is...
Lamonte and Havefaith
I am in a university, working as research staff. Although the original offer letter said it was permanent, it also mentioned some funding I had which had an ending date. The resubmitted letter clarifed that the position was not contingent on the funding.
Hope this...
Some of the initial letters were not from co-authors. I sent in about 10 more letters.
I had two years of teaching and research in another university after I got Master's degree. I tried to cite that two years as well as letters saying my Ph.D. work was outstanding. Did not know which way worked.
Hello all,
My EB1 OR petition was approved by NSC. I want to thank
all of you in this forum, especially those who replied to my
questions on my RFE.
ND 9/30/2002
RFE 3/17/2003
RFE recvd 6/4/2003
AD 6/9/2003
I was pleasantly surprised that my petition was approved
in basically 3...
Re: Three Years on EB1-OR
This is still the RFE. I have been too busy with my work to deal with it and finally assembled enough documents to answer the RFE. It gave me three months to respond, I am using all of it.
I don't know what you guys' experience is. Getting letters from those...
Hello,
I worked as a faculty member in a non-US university after I got my Master's degree before I enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a US university. I have only one year experience after Ph.D.
I got a letter from my former employee which said that I worked in research projects and taught...
