I live and work in New York City. VSC sent the approval notice to the law firm in Manhattan and a courtersy copy to my home as well...
The law firm could send the original approval notice to me but it was easy enough for me to pick it up from the law firm directly...
Hope that clears...
As some of you guys might know, my greencard case (RD: Oct 2001) was approved on Feb 1st, 2003. I went to get the greencard stamp (I-551) on the passport yesterday and this ended my whole greencard journey (of course, I will wait for the physical greencard, but that is irrevalent and not too...

I actually have done my FP in Feb of 2002...Knowing INS, it would not surprise me at all if they indeed ordered the physically card before they update the online status from approved to card ordered.

As I stated in my other thread that my 485 got approved while I was abroad. PGC, to answer your question, I entered the USA with AP WITHOUT any problems at all.
Obviously, you will be called into a waiting room (at least at JFK custom) as you entered into the POE. I showed the AP to the...

You can only wish INS will put that much effort on processing 485 cases than adding countries to its registration list.
Remember a few weeks back, FBI were looking for 5 guys whom FBI believe they have entered USA. You then have INS assertively saying that "yep, they are here in New...
I believe what zztop and abhi_ said is correct.
Again, if you have started to use your EAD, your H1B visa/status will be void. You will have to apply for H1B again. The period in which you are using your EAD does NOT count towards your H1B.
H1B is good for maximum of 6 years (with the...
I second that opinion. Personally, I have traveled with my H1B while the 485 is pending...so, you should be fine.
The situation which 485 is considered abandon is when one leaves the country without a valid H1B and/or Advance Parole.
Hope that help.

Her employer should pay $5000 fine to INS if it wants to keep your wife working after her EAD expired.
If the company does not pay the fine to INS, and your wife still works for them after EAD expires, she might put her greencard application at risk if INS ever find this out.
Hope that...
