There seems to be quite a variance in the time it takes to receive the interview letter - from a few days to a couple months. So, I guess I would suggest to hold tight.
I got an email update last week - status changed to "testing and interview." wiiw, timing of IL seems to vary. Interesting that you received YL before your status change.
I would also be interested to hear up to date information on interview to oath wait times for DC residents. Based on the few recent posts on the subject in the "Wash DC (Fairfax) - N-400 Timeline" thread, it seems like the delay can be months.
Was the May 16th notification from Fedex or the USCIS? It's been less than two weeks so I wouldn't be too concerned yet. If you look at some of the other recent trackers, there are at least a couple of examples of people for whom the check cashing took a while (e.g., MGTgrl in the March forum).
I would think copies of tax transcripts are sufficient - assuming of course that you did not already send those with your N-400 (which would mean they are asking for something further). I ordered the last four years of tax transcripts, which I believe is the maximum.
Though I am not an expert, that is my understanding. I think becoming a permanent Canadian resident as more about getting access to Canadian benefits (and paying Canadian taxes).
If you are worried about potentially losing your U.S. citizenship then I am pretty sure you are fine. Remember, you'll still have to file U.S. taxes even as a Canadian resident
I am not sure what Canada's requirements are.
