waitingforaos, your fingerprints are valid until atleast Jan 2003. If your case is not approved until then, you will get an FP notice again. Just hope that your case gets approved before that.

waitingforaos, fingerprint records expire every 15 months. So your records will be current until Feb 2003, after which you will get a fingerprint scheduling notice again. Ofcourse, we all hope your case gets approved before that. But as a rule, all fingerprint records expire after 15 months...

We can only hope that the recording I heard is old and has not been updated in a few years. Who knows!

jkmad, when did you receive the transfer notice in the mail? Did the transfer notice tell you why your case was being transferred?

My wife's fingerprints were rejected twice. I suppose that could have been the reason for the transfer of her case. I don't know why they transferred my case though, perhaps because her case is dependent on my case, they transferred my case too.

What if someone does not have H-1B, i.e. H1-B visa expired long ago, and now he is on EAD and AP. Uses AP to travel and come back to the US. At Port of Entry, the officer stamps only one year of valid stay - and let us say, even after one year, his I-485 is not approved, what happens then?

So what happens if your term of 1 year is up and your case is not yet approved? Do you have to file for an extension or something?
