Instruction are WRONG. Search on this forum and you will see that the Interim EAD's were discontinued in late 2006/2007.
You CANNOT receive an interim EAD anymore. I know from experience.
Since OP was granted asylum in 2002, I am wondering if the investigation is to make sure his asylum complies with Real ID act of 2005.
sukhipatiala: When did you get approved?
Anyone out there who had their clock stopped, what kind of message do you get when you call the 800 number and inquire about the time elapsed? Does it say, 'Clock is Stopped'? Thanks
As I mentioned in my first post, the referral letter provided me with the date at which 150 days have elapsed. Even by most conservative calculations, 150 days have elapsed. I applied for the EAD on the date indicated in the referral letter (at which time 150 days have elapsed).

I was denied asylum by AO and referred to IJ. My first hearing is not until March 2008. The referral notice also had the date at which I can apply for EAD- I promptly filled for the EAD on that indicated date and included the referral letter and highlighted the date when I mailed my EAD app...
No, I did not pay the first time either. The first time (last month) it was rejected because of the clock. I am filling it again (tomorrow) and am wondering if I have to pay the fees since I already filled once and it was rejected.
Dear All:
I have a pending asylum application. I filled for my EAD a few weeks ago and it was rejected because I had calculated the 150 days wrong, according to the rejection notice I was told to file Nov 1st.
When I file again tomorrow, do I have to pay them the $340 fees OR is it still...
Can anyone clarify this: I also had my FP's done after I filled for asylum. I filed for my first EAD a month ago based on 'pending asylum', will I need to get fingerprinted again?
The only reason I ask is because I have not received any notice from USCIS until now
Thank you for the kind words.
I had retained a lawyer when i filled for asylum and I have confidence in my representation and will continue with him during the court process. I will go to court and fight my case and get it approved from the IJ.
I found out over the weekend that my asylum was referred to the Immigration Judge by the officer. I have a very strong case and will go to court and all, but needless to say I am very disappointed....Very Very Disappointed :(
I just wanted to post it here in this forum as only people over...
Colombian PR: I am aware that it usually takes 3 months on processing BUT I have not been received the initial notice of receipt of application and only my lawyer did receive it.
huni98: In the previous times I received all notices as well as my lawyer (notices such as interview date and...
I applied for work permit four weeks ago based on a pending asylum application. 1 week later my lawyer received notice of reipt of my application from USCIS but until today I have not received any notice of recipt of my application. I have checked the address that I put down on my application...
I was wondering how long it 'usually' takes to receive the decision following the asylum interview.
I filled for asylum in December 2006 and had my interview in the Chicago office at the end of March 2007. Since we are approching the end of May, I was wanting to find out how long it takes...
