Hello all,
Just wanted to post our interview experience.
My husband had his interview on Aug 24,2009 at 8am in Chicago. We reached at 7:45am. We had to take our 4 month old daughter as we couldn't get a baby sitter for early in the morning. We took the Metra from suburbs and the INS office...
Can you take kids with you for the interview (especially to the Chicago office)? We have a 4 month old. Just wanted to find out if any one went to Chicago office with their kids? Or do I need to find a baby sitter?
Thanks!
You need to become a US citizen before you can apply for your mother. There is also family based GC process available. But that might take years. You could rather wait until you become a citizen and then apply for your mom which would be faster.
We sent the 1040's I think. I don't think I sent the IRS transcripts. I already got those for my naturalization interview. I will just send them over to the INS.
We got request for more information notice. They are asking for sponsor's W2, 1099 etc. We had submitted all the IRS return forms. Any inputs on what else I could send apart from W2 so this doesn't happen again.
Thanks
Here is the latest update. We are still waiting to get the notice to verify the progress of our application. But my spouse has given the FP on wednesday. How long before you get the EAD/AP? Are we in fast track?
Thanks guys!
Ana_485: In the cover letter mention that there is a EB based GC in process along with the A number. As per my understanding the EB based GC will automatically cancel once you get your FB GC.
Please check the other threads here on the questions asked during the 485 interviews.
Few more questions -
1. I am planning on filing for I-130 & 485 together. In the filing fee section in the link that PraetorianXI gave above - for 485 it says if you pay the newer fee(which is now ~$1050) we don't need to seperately pay for advanced parole and EAD if everything is filed...
Please Pardon me if some one else had asked these question before...
1. I verified the NSC timeline and there is no specification of I-130 applications. Does that mean the processing is fast(30-60days) if you apply for a spouse of USC? I also did not find I-485 submitted for spouse of USC.
2...
Hey sorry about your situation. The best bet for you at this point is to enroll into a degree program and apply for F-1. You might have to go back to get your visa stamped for F-1.
Good luck trying other options!
Thanks PraetorianXI
Thanks PraetorianXI!
Follow up question:
If we submit I-130 - an entirely new application, what would happen to the I-1485 through EB? Would the I-1485 or the I-130 be affected by each other? Would there be any adverse affects? At this point I know I-485 will take atleast...
