Me.
I was told at the Blaine Truck crossing in 2008 that I had "setup a homestead" and that they did not see anything temporary in my work.
The fact is that the economy was in the toliet.
I was a Canadian taking a job from an American.
I made more money in the prior year...
What.. you missed the big signs saying "No recording devices of any kind allowed while in this building." "Turn off all cell phones while in this building." ?
I used Joe Grasmick about 6 years ago to "fix" errors my employer had unwittingly made on a mail-in TN renewal.
He is worth every penny he charges.
My issue was solved and I got my TN with his assistance.
Proof of ties to Canada is not a requirement for a TN
You need a job offer from a US employer that matches a TN eligible profession, your proof of education, Canadian Passport and US$56 for the fees
At this point being that it's USDHS (Department of Homeland Security) that is the Immigration authority and I'd assume they have or can get copies of EVERY document you have ever signed while in the US.
Just make certain you never carry anything outside of or back into the US that identifies a...
So I had this same problem with regards to an intensive 14 month courses that had more hours than an equivalent 2 yr University course.
I simply had the schools provide me with their internal documents they used for the Provincial Education dept. that showed the total # of hours in the program...
As someone who spent 11 consecutive years on a TN AND was denied my 14th TN I can truthfully say that when you start getting questioned regarding how many previous TN's you have had and how many consecutive years you've been in the US you are "on the radar".
I started hearing "what will you do...
You have a Computer Science degree. I do not believe you need to show prior work experience with the degree. You should be more worried about matching the US position description against the Systems Analyst requirements
if you wish to visit our GReAT country you should apply for the redemption like everyone else has to do A couple of hundred dollars to clear this up is not cheap but at least you'll not have to go through another denial.
Just curious did the cruise line/ticket agent give you a brochure regarding...
It did not take more than 45 days when I did a renewal while in the US. They called all my references and the Passport was on its way back to me before they even billed my Mastercard
I've done these stupid online forms before and I just did this:
1. Yes
2. Yes
Explanation:
I am a Canadian citizen already holding a TN status for another US position. I need a simple job offer letter to present to the USCBP for a TN for this position.
BTW, I got jobs through applications...
CB that quite literally sucks!
I seem to remember a number in red on the top of the card can you still read that?
At least with that they can actually look up you record.
I would think the worst is that you'll have to pay another $6 next return into the US for another I-94. Just in case...
Well.... sigh ....
You're post seems to be missing a bit of info.....
When you entered the US under what status did CBP allow you entry?
You've been in the US for 5 months you should already have figured out this issue at around the 2nd month.
You should have entered on an H4 then you would...
Sorry to hear you are running into problems with your renewal.
I'd suggest you do a mail-in and pay the US$1000 for Premium Processing.
I said this 3 or 4 times over the past 2 years; There is a house cleaning going on with respect to Sci-Tech TN's if CBP can find a legitimate reason for...
1. Legally you have to leave the day you are laid off. Realistically you about about 10 days.
2. You have to return to Canada in order to claim US Employment Insurance. You must be "legally able to accept work" and you cannot do that in the US without a TN.
3. If you leave and have not...
This is really old, 1984, but gives you the general outline:

Thankfully the US SS Admin has MUCH better information:
http://www.ssa.gov/international/Agreement_Pamphlets/canada.html
I know SS is paid on a sliding scale depending on...
If you're that concerned fly to Ottawa and apply enroute into the US. Worst case they find something wrong that you can correct and at least you're someplace semi-familiar, can take the time to fix the application then re-apply as opposed to enroute back to the UK.....
I've heard of TN people having this issue in the past 2 years right about when the US economy started to tank.
Have you shopped around for a mortgage with mortgage corp's as opposed to major banks?
When I got my original mortgage in April 2000 I went through hell and back to get a mortgage...
I applaude Nelsona for making that comment.
it is spot on and if you'd take your head out of the sand and look around you'd see a lot of talented people... TN's, H1B's and even LPR's who are all leaving the US because of the bureaucracy of the USDHS tieing them to 1 company and 1 job for years...
