Got It Got the EAD on Saturday, Jan 20. Oddly enough, the card is dated 01/11, which is the day I went down to the DO here in Norfolk and begged for them to approve it. I've never seen a piece of ID that looks anything like this card. Weird. In any case, that's over and done with. Whew...

EAD clock winding down... I went in last week to the local DO and pleaded my case. I also wrote letters to the National Benefits Center and the local office, and have received no acknowledgement. I did however get two LUDs last week on my EAD...hopefully it will be banged out in a hurry.

I believe you are out of luck I believe that smuggling an illegal alien, whether 5 years ago or 55 years ago, makes you permanently ineligible to sponsor anyone. You could fight this with an attorney, maybe, but your energy I would guess would be better spent finding someone else to sponsor...
