I eneterd the US on 7th October, and got the welcome letter today, Novemebr 17th. Looks like it's taking a little longer than usual.

You can make a request and if they are interviewing candidates with PD on or after you, they may consider your request.
I had an interview in June 2007 and was unable to go because of a Motor Vehicle Accident, so when I requested them a date in July they had allocated me a date in July...
Yes it is possible and majority of the business do so.
Your corporation will be treated as a Foreign Corporation (Foreign to that State) in the new state, and you will have to register and pay applicable fee in that state to do the business.
Is there any restriction on when any one can start working on part time contarct after getting the GC, in addition to his normal job through his sponsoring company?
I assume the answer is anytime and there should not be any restriction, as the person already is maintaining his regular job...
I do not think that there is any time frame as such. However, I have seen it is first in and first out. It should not take more than 2-3 months before you get the interview date if you are early in the priority date queue.
You can also email the consulate and request them an appointment.
HTH.
Thank you.

At last it is over - the wait and agony of many years!
First, I want to thank this spectacular group and everyone who have shared their views and ideas... this forum has been a great asset for everyone appearing for CP.
Last stage of my Green Card experience went through a tough ride and...
Hi,
I appeared for the CP interview on 24th Sep and it went fine, except that they will not accept our birth certificate issued from SF Indian consulate. Now, we are running around at different places to get the birth certificate from municipality.
So, if you are in similar boat you should...
Return ticket should not be a problem at all.
Also, you should give atleast 1-2 hours for the paper processing on POE, and additional few hours before you catch the next flight.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the response. Really appreciate your help.
One more set of questions:
1. Does the consulate puts an immigrant visa stamp in the passport?
2. Somewhere I read that there is no stamping done in the passport? If so, do I need to present additional docs at the outbound airport...
Hi,
My CP interview is scheduled in late September, and I plan to come back on October 10th. However my current H1B is expiring on October 1st.
Do I have to worry about H1B not valid when I am coming back? or, is it because US consulate will stamp the Immigrant Visa, I can still travel to...
Atlast I have got a visa appointment set-up in September under EB2. My PD is March 2003.
Hopefully, other qualifying members also will be getting notified soon.

Hi,
Has anyone heard of any IV interview schedule at Mumbai? Hopefully, they should schedule interviews for the cases which are current now.
Thanks,
Amit
I also explored on various websites, and they are suggesting that the only thing that is required is to file I-824 form to get a duplicate to the original approval.
I would like to ask if that if the only required step, or if there are other things that need to be done?
Thanks in advance...
The employer sent me the tracking number for the mail.... so I will think that the employer did send the papers.
Asssuming that they did send the paper, and the paper got lost what are the options I have at this time?
Thanks,
Amit
