Can we request consulate to schedule interview

Hi,

My Priority date is June18, 2004 EB2 category. If visa dates moves as expected then it should become current in the month of December, I am hoping for this to happen. We have plans to visit India during December therefore my concern is that if my date becomes current in November bulletin then is it possible to request consulate (New Delhi) to schedule the interview in December since I am already visiting India during that month. If we can request then please gove phone number/email ID of the embassey.

I am not sure what stage your application is at. Is your case completed at NVC and forwarded to New Delhi Consulate, yet?
If yes, it may be possible that the consulate will schedule an interview sometimes in November (ones the December visa bulletin is published, for a December date) anyway on its own, but it is unlikely that they will consider an individual request for an earlier date if it involves jumping ahead in the line. If there are free dates, then yes. Give them a call or email them as soon as you find out that your PD is becoming current in December.

Visa bulletin

The December 2007 visa bulletin should be published in the coming days so keep an eye on it. The November one is already on the list of archived bulletins, so it is imminent. Archive list: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1770.html

Ones you find out that your PD becomes current in December contact the consulate right away. You will need time to arrange appointments for the medical exam and vaccination, too.

Packet 4 can be delivered in India..

Thanks for your reply and I also have following issues, if my date becomes current during my India visit -

- If date becomes current then is it possible to get packet4 delivered in India or collect from embassey.
- I still don't have PCC from here -after having dates current is it possible to get PCC in India our passports are issued by San fransisco based indian consulates.

I'll appreciate if anybody can answer these questions.
 
You can make a request and if they are interviewing candidates with PD on or after you, they may consider your request.

I had an interview in June 2007 and was unable to go because of a Motor Vehicle Accident, so when I requested them a date in July they had allocated me a date in July.

can i convert into 485 while dates not current

i m also thinking for same option. could u please tell me whether we can file for 485 when date is not current.
 
Unfortunately you missed the boat. Should have filed in July/August when date became current.

You will need to wait till the PD becomes June 19, 2004 or beyond.

I have made quite a few mistakes in this GC process. Heck in hindsight I could have done things in so many different ways. Looks like there is a thing called "KARMA" / "FATE" which will take you where it needs to take you.

In my case I am capturing the approved EB3 PD. Filed I-485 using EB2 I-140 filing. But the ##@$@ people in USCIS rejected the case Oct 31, 2007, saying that we need to prove that visa numbers are available. The case has been refiled begining of this month. I wonder what will happen.
 
How long it takes when files forwarded from NVC to Consulate

Hi there,

Anybody has an idea how long it takes when files forwarded from NVC to Consulate. My case had been completed on Aug 9, 2007 in NVC and forwarded to Consulate in Guangzhou. I checked with General Consulate and was told that they haven't received file yet. But NVC then told me they have transferred to Consulate on Aug 9, 2007. Ans also stated that any further question should direct to Consulate. What I should do now.
