Apply from consulate I believe you are from AP, India. Mandal office Birth certificate doesn\'t look authentic(Birth Certificate in type writer printed on Regular paper). So not to take risk, I had applied for Consulate Birth Certificate and applied for 485.

My 2 cents .. Apply for Birth Certificate from Consulate .. If you have not applied 485 yet, apply for BC thru consulate .. And I think, Your Birth Certificate should not be any problem ..
