Just my thought on this...

What does it say in the seal??

I think that if whatever there in the seal is written in english at some part of the BC then it should be OK.

But i would advice you to be prepared with another BC incase if you get an RFE (hope you don\'t).

Again this is my thought.

Yes, Seal say Mandal Revenue Officer, I have a round seal which is in local Language and in english

 
 
My 2 cents .. Apply for Birth Certificate from Consulate

.. If you have not applied 485 yet, apply for BC thru consulate ..
And I think, Your Birth Certificate should not be any problem ..
 
Do you think a consulate birth certificate will work? Do you know anybody approved so far?

Consulate Birth Certificate worked for me ..

I got my passport stamped ...
Go to website (Consulate General of India, New York, For example. I don\'t know URL) and download the Birth certificate form. Send passport, form & fees to consulate or go in person. They will send it to you..
 
Apply from consulate

I believe you are from AP, India.
Mandal office Birth certificate doesn\'t look authentic(Birth Certificate in type writer printed on Regular paper). So not to take risk, I had applied for Consulate Birth Certificate and applied for 485.
