Update - Name change
I also took a chance and changed all my names to my married last name in all my I-751 application. I didn't even attached anything, I basically just changed it. I received my permanent GC with my married name!
Bummer.. Well I'm not planning to change my citizenship for a while, due to assets back home. In my country, basically foreigners cannot own anything. I really don't wanna be stuck with my maiden name until then. Is there any other way to change to my married name?
Hi, I have a question about filing my I-751. In my conditional GC, I still have my maiden name. The reason was because I didn't know you could just change it to your married name on the initial GC application. Which I have to hear my husband's mouth for almost 2 years now about that!! Now, can I...
One unwritten rule I heard when I had my F1 visa: When your parents want to visit, NEVER tell the US Embassy they have any relative in the US. She should've told the Embassy that she just wants to visit the US for vacation. It could be the finances also, but I have met people who got their...
ooops
Yeah, i didn't think about the asylum thing.... But is it really? u can't go back to your home country, even though u were issued a GC? I thought it's only for the time being while u're waiting for your GC, not after u get it. However, I've heard about that before.
YES, don't do...
Who told ya?
WOW! Where did u hear that from? I got my card in nov, went home w/ my husband like a month later. Go home tomorrow!
What happened to banano could be pure luck, but I think coming back here with your wife "kinda" guaranteed your entrance. Not that I would try it thought, VERY...
You're still vague about your question, is it just about your aunt's application or does it have anything to do with you?
If it's about her, it might not be a problem. My ex husband applied I-130 for me back in 97-99? I can't even remember. Nevertheless, I never pursued it any further. I...
Well, it doesn't just depend on whether they're suspicious or not. Here in Columbus, OH, any couple I know that went to the interviews, all got separated interviews. Even when we went to the interview, there were 4 couples ahead of us, they were all questioned separately. I think it's just the...
It can be overwhelming. But why don't u print all the documents needed first, I-130, I-485, I-693, etc. Read one at a time. The instructions are very clear there. All to chicago.
I didn't use ANY cover letter. I just grouped the papers based on what forms, n i used paper clips. The reason was cuz i didn't think about it until i saw it in this forum. Regardless, everything was ok. The only thing i would've done differently, was to submit the I-693 altogether, which i...
Depends
Here in Columbus, OH, between $ 1,000 - $ 2,000 PLUS form fees. That's if u have a pretty simple case. A complicated one will raise the range. We decided to file it ourselves. I just don't feel like to pay someone $ 1,000 JUST to do the paperwork, that can be done in less than 1 hour...
