I have a very similar case. I have worked for the same employer for 6.5 years and spect 5.5 years in GC process. Of these only a year waiting for 485 to get approved. I have had my GC for 2 months now. I am wondering is it ok to leave?
My thought is how about all the people who use the...
Hi nelsona,
Howdy old timer? I also received my GC finally after so many years. However, we entered on AP while it was still pending. So we have an I-94 attached to the passport. Do we surrender this when we leave the next time?
Our GC was approved while we were on vacation in India. On our return at airport were paroled in by the seconday inpsection.
When I mentioned it to the officer that our GC has been approved he said unless I present proof he doesn't know anything. I checked my mail last night and we have...
After 10 long years in US and more than 5.5 years in the GC process, we finally received the card production ordered emails. After spending 10 years on the "temporary" H1B status, I have become so skeptical that I am not sure if I have been approved.
The process dragged on for so long that...
GC approved while out of country
Alright, fellas. After almost 10 years in US and 5.5 years of GC processing by different government agencies it seems my gc has finally been approved. We are currently visiting India and have in out possession original Advance Parole documents and I-485...
Looks like all the old-timers here are getting approved. I just called NSC and I got the same old answer pending NC. When I asked about the new rule, they said wait until May 30th. I am really getting tired now. I am close to completing 10 years in US with no definite end in sight. * sigh *
Congratulations to nelsona
Its good to see an old timer get out finally!!! Enjoy your freedom.
I talked to someone in NSC and here's what I was told. There are a total of 47K cases that are pending. They are currently processing cases that were filed in 2006. What the hell does that mean...
We are planning to travel to Indian soon and will be using AP to return. Can anyone post their AP experience at SFO?
1. What docs to carry?
2. What copies to carry?
3. Secondary inspection expected?
4. Any specific questions at the port of entry?
So what exactly is this sweep? Is there anyway we can call and find out from NSC if the case has been marked by the sweep. I have missed the bus so many times and I want to make sure that I get on this time because dates are expected to move for EB2 India in April.
greynicolls,
On this note, does everyone get issued two copies of the AP? Last year when I got my AP, we got three copies. This time with the renewal we got only 2. Should we have received three?
Also, does anyone have AP experience at SFO airport?
kgp, its good to see you :-)
This is a very sad day for me. Having waited for over 4 years for labor cert and now almost for a year for 485 I am being told that the dates won't be curent for another 9 months. This is a very bad day indeed. Literally everyone I know has had better luck...
This is beyond belief. Are there ppl in EB2 still stuck from 2000? That just sounds too unbelievable!! But then its your draw of luck. I have friends who filed after me didn't, get stuck in PBEC, or those who did get in PBEC still got approved GC without hitting retrogression. I think I am...
I will try writing to the first lady also. Quite honestly as frustrated as I am, i feel I am very close to the end of the journey. Retrogression can't have any serious impact for us. At worst the dates will become current 2002 ppl again in May/Jun of next year. If our NC's are clear we are...
Ok guys, so I finally got tired of waititng and I have sent letter to the local Congressman and to Senator Dianne Feintein. Let's if the senator's query helps at all. Had my NC been cleared last month my PD was current. Now if the NC does clear only god knows when the PD will be current again. :(
labordrags,
I think you have started a very good thread. Please ignore nonsense posts.
Although, here are my thoughts. In order to discuss this issue we all need to understand what actually goes into becoming a citizen. All we know is that after 5 years of GC you can become a citizen...
greynicolls,
its good to see tha you have not lost your sense of humor/sarcasm! I hope they don't start a BEC for all NC oldtimers ... hahah that will be f*** nuts if they did that.
labordrags,
This is a great idea. I was stuck in labor certification for over 4 years. This is the kind of thinking we need. A lot of us are worried about getting GC. (Rightly so. ) Getting a GC will still give us partial freedom only. We will be tethered to live in US 6 months out of...
csrini,
I have timeline very close to yours. NSC tells me that they are waiting on NC clearance. I have written to my local congressman and I am planning to write to Senator and First lady also. Have you tried any of these?
nelsona,
It feels good that someone undestands the problem here. There are a lot of ppl on different forums complaining about their PD's from 2006 and how they have been waiting for really long. We waited almost 5 frustrating years to get EAD/AP. And now suddenly the systems is flooded with...
nokin,
You have a lot of friends here! I have been stuck with the process since Sep 02. My PD was current until last month but RD wasn't and now its the other way around. To make things worse, I am stuck in namecheck too ...
