just AP documents and passport. i came back a month ago from pakistan. they didn't ask for anything else.
although it would be safe to take ur EAD and last few paystubs.

I would appreciate if some one cast post a list of documents to carry while travelling on AP.

I traveled twice no problem, just make sure you take all the AP original copies, last time at SFO airport, officer asked how many copies of AP I have, I told I got 2, but at POE I had only 1, so he advised me to carry all the copies , but he was very good, stamped AP and took a xerox copy of AP and allowed me to proceed.

HTH

We might never hear a story from a guy who did not meet a nice officer at POE but rather some a-hole with photocopy machine broken. ;)

thanks for the input guys. just to add to this discussion here is the answer from my lawyer

"When traveling with your Advanced Parole documents you should have your passport, both pages of the AP document, and a copy of your adjustment receipt notice. It might also be useful to carry with you your most recent pay stub to show that you are in fact still employed, although this will very likely be unnecessary."

greynicolls,

On this note, does everyone get issued two copies of the AP? Last year when I got my AP, we got three copies. This time with the renewal we got only 2. Should we have received three?

Also, does anyone have AP experience at SFO airport?

I received three copies the first time around. Now the renewal has two pages according to the lawyer, although I have not received it in hand yet. So i guess two copies the second time around is normal.

Goodfells another question for u is did u have the new scannable passport or the old one.

i used old passport which is NOT readable.

with AP you might face more stupid questioing at airport outside US rather than in US.
I was asked so many stupid questions on my way back at Delhi and that too by the Airline Agent and was not even spoken to at Newark on my way back ! APs are pretty much straight forward.

which I-94 TO SURRENDER (if any)

thnx to all of u for ur input.

One more question

The I-94 attached to my passport is still the old I-94 that i received when i travelled 4 years back on H-1.

Now which I-94 (if any) is surrendered at the time of departure ?

Make copies of all I-94s you have (for your record). Staple all original I-94s together (the one you got at the airport and one you received with H1 extensions) and surrender at the time of departure.

the only I-94 I have is the one attached to the passport when i came back four years ago. Now i am on EAD.

So i am guessing I am surrendering one I-94, the one I received when I came back four years ago.
