Call the airline and the consulate of the respective countries. Best way to get this information. And when you get it do share it with the rest of the forum.
No worries on the primary changing jobs, the secondary should be receiving the approval notice shortly. If you don't hear from them inside 30 days, you might want to kick of an inquiry.
I found the 'walla' reference hilarious! :) It is a part of an old British colonization English, and really funny to hear/read.
Regarding the INS response, why am I not surprised? The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Add to that they are bloody incompetent. But with...
You should probably be calling:
1. The airline
2. The Dutch Consulate
These rules change all the time, so it is best to be on top of it. But usually European countries do not recognize I551, they only recognize plastic cards.
I drove from Santa Fe to Roswell at about 7:00 pm, it had just become dark, and the road was completely deserted. We drove for about 4 hours without passing a single car on the road. It was scary. No wonder they see UFO's all the time on those roads. People are so jumpy that any light they see...
Actually there have been tons of people who have waited longer. A case in point people like King Anil etc. But this is not to take anything away from your long wait.
Please accept my congratulations and wishes for a very pleasant future. You definitely deserve some good luck. :)
Don't know what it is about that saying but I just LOVE it! :) This is my stock reply when a neo-con spouts the Bush administration BS about security. Now that is a completely different story.
Kadamtal,
Congratulations! :) Wonderful to hear about your approval. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done for the community. Specially with regards to fighting for backlog reduction. Your participation and support when there was none is highly appreciated...
:) A brown skinned friend of mine was travelling through Texas by bus, when an old man sitting next to him asked him if he was from Michigan, this guy apparently thought, people living in Michigan are brown for some reason. :)
The South lives in its own world, where the two main issues in...
Ack! Enough of the fear the mod posts! This is the forum where there is almost no interference from the mods. You are giving us a bad rap. :)
I agree Mac has had some cool features, used to use them all the time back in school, just that those damn @#$'s at apple never learnt to market their...
This is similar to the social security card. Something non-citizens are to carry at all times. Who carries it on person? The problems faced while trying to recover the card if lost are a sufficient deterrent to carrying it on person.
I think the best way to tackle the issue is to carry the...
I don't think most immigration officers know the difference between the two. You will be probably better off posting these questions in those forums where they deal with these issues on a daily basis, which gives them a better grip on the answers.
:) Mods do have some powers, I could bring back that post if you so desired. Or make it vanish from public vision.
No idea why people are so annoyed these days. The forum is definitely facing one of those slack periods. I guess the flood of approvals is pushing people inside their houses...
It is silly to expect people to carry their green cards on person all the time. I would think with all the trouble one has to go through in case of loss of card, you would want to keep it in a bank vault or something.
Even the INS rules specify that you only need to be know where the card is...
