guys i'm waiting for my Green card to come and i have trip to abroad.
MY question is do i require transit visa from Swiss. I have my passport stamped but not re'ved G.C yet.
Has anybody gone thry this. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Some of us do, some not. I don't need a transit visa for any European country, for example. It all depends on your citizenship country.
If you normally need a transit visa, your GC won't help you fly without it. I think that only Mexico and Canada care about your GC.
If you don't know if you need a transit visa, go to your country's ministry of foreign affairs web site and/or call up nearest swiss consular office.

Call the airline and the consulate of the respective countries. Best way to get this information. And when you get it do share it with the rest of the forum.

swiss permits GC holders to visit without any visa requirements. However, it appears they don't recognizeI 551 stamp as its equivalent.

For visiting Swiss, If you have GC (Plastic Card) then no you dont need transit visa. I551 (passport stamping) is not recognized.

You first post said Swiss and now you are talking abt Frankfurt  . Since I know abt Swiss Iam posting this.

chill out and have a good trip.

I have flown through frankfurt many times and I have not been asked for a transit visa. Actually, its canada that requires a transit visa(!), at least that was what told to me by the lufthansa crew during my last visit, I had to take a different route that did not had a stopover in canada.

Hope this helps.

BTW, Switzerland is about to join th Schengen agreement (the actual vote
will be in December but it considered to be a formality). Once Swiss will join the Schengen US GC will not be sufficient to visit their country.
