Leaving and entering when on F1 visa

Why don't you renew your F-1 visa when you are in India? That way, you can be sure that all your documents are in order. Plus, if you wanted/had to leave the country at a future date before graduation, you would have no problems. If you don't/can't renew the visa, I am not sure how the...

    OPT - Re-entry to US -

See my earlier post on this at: http://www.immigrationportal.com/showpost.php?p=961561&postcount=8 I have done some reasonable digging into this and in my opinion, the risk, if any, is very small to negligible if you have a job offer. Good luck,

    Travelin to India during OPT

Anniev, My spouse recently visited India after graduation on an OPT and had no problems on the way back (this was two weeks ago and the visit was certainly not under unavoidable circumstances!). The immigration officer at the port of entry looks for: 1) Valid I-20 2) Valid F-1 visa 3)...

Do i need a 7 th year extension

In this situation (where the I-140 is pending), is there an advantage to filing 7th year extension over using the EAD? I can't seem to think of a situation where it would help....

    Update on USCIS website

It's day 19 and no update yet! The AILA website shows NSC and TSC as having updated their dates on 7/7. Guess VSC (and CSC?) is lagging behind ... I havent seen much movement PAST the november dates already posted for EB2 and EB3. So, I wonder if we will the dates move with this update...

    2004 Consolidated Tracker ONLY (140/EAD/AP/FP/485)

One more surprise in the email today from USCIS... AP: Approved 7/2/04 (ND: 5/25/04) (Could someone please update the tracker? Thanks!) I think USCIS is bucking up with EAD AND AP approvals! Hang in there everyone...

Advice on Usage of EAD or H1?

Given these discussions, it doesnt appear that there is an advantage of using the H1 over EAD if the H1 is a 7th year extension, is there? because, if the AOS is rejected, the H1 extension is rejected, and one is out of status anyway, (just as with AOS rejection on an EAD)...correct? Or could...

    2004 Consolidated Tracker ONLY (140/EAD/AP/FP/485)

EAD ND 5/25/04 , approved on 6/26/04 I got my EAD approved on June 26th. ND was 5/25/04. Could someone please update the tracker ? Thanks! I was quite surpised to see the email from USCIS so early (am not complaining!). Status is updated to approved on the online system. I hope everyone else...

    Boston Regional DOL Tracker

There have been patterns to suggest that Vermont, Maine and NH have become quite strict in issuing RIR in the software field. However, if a strong, concrete pattern of recruitment efforts can be established, and if your company has had experience with getting RIRs approved within the last year...

    Update on USCIS website

Was there supposed to be a USCIS update today to processing dates? I'd be curious to see if the relatively fewer number Oct/Nov cases will speed things up. At the same time, I do hope that the folks with earlier dates in 2003 (I hope there isnt anyone in EB2/EB3 from 2002 still?) get their...

    Massachusetts SESA Tracker

This has happened for some months in the past too, in my experience. Usually (unfortunately), the message still stays at the previous month (May in this case) if the processing dates have not moved since. In reality however, I have noticed that actual processing dates tend to be slightly...

Congratulations, kmunna! Could you give details of what financial documents were sent along with the I-140 application? Does your company have profits (or is it reliant on VC funding)? response much appreciated, thanx

    October Approvals needed.

...only if you tell me how you got these numbers ;) Actually, I just remembered reading in this forum about a website that gives processing stats for I-140 and I-1485 for different service centers. Anyone know which site that is?

    October Approvals needed.

Ah, make sense. going by the Oct/Nov case load, it seems like things should gallop pretty fast...thanks for the insight :) I am not sure how hard it is to collect these numbers (how do you calculate these?), but would it be possible to post these statistics for 2004 months as well? I know it...

    I-140 ND 10/09/03 approved

Congratulations! VSC is going great guns, it seems like :-) Good luck with I-485. I just hope they get older cases (e.g. Mar-Sep 2003 ND) completely cleared soon too. Many of these older cases (from reports on this forum) do appear to be relatively straightforward situations, so what's...

    I-140 Approved RD - 23,Oct2003

I guess that depends on when in Feb the EAD got approved. Also, like I read somewhere else in the forum, 90 days is counted as 90 working days, so the number of calendar days comes out to be 104 days or so it seems. Going by that, chakul's EAD processing timeframe seems to be in line...
