Have you filed I-765 and I-131 for yourself as well, or just for your wife?
From what I hear and read on various forums, there is no connection between name check and I-765/I-131 processing.
I do hear that there could be RFE's for dependents' I-765's, esp. if I-765/I-131 are filed separately...
Illegal immigration is part of their agenda. Nothing is going to improve for us. In fact, they will pass another amnesty and we won't see our GC's before the las wetback gets his citizenship.
Why bother now?
They now have House and may have Senate, and in two years we'll have Hillary for president.
I bet the immigration changes (if any) will be for the worse, not for better. The only foreseeable major change is amnesty that of course won't help us. In fact, it will only make the...
Go to the new web site (www.usicis.gov).
You'll end up at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis
On the right-hand side column at the top you'll see the following question:
"Have you filed with USCIS?"
Choose "Yes" - this is a drop-down-style menu there.
Choose "My case is pending" - this...
Yes, she'll have to send the supporting doc's (don't forget the copy of ID) and make an appointment for biometrics. If she ever had an EAD, she has to send it too - otherwise there will be an RFE and a 2-months delay in processing.
I just had an InfoPass appointment with a local office. Indeed, no EAD right away. Moreover, since I had an RFE they point blank refused to act till 90 days since my response have expired. And even then (as I was told) they would issue not a request for EAD itself, but just an inquiry. So, it...
Why don't you try to go for an appointment to your local USCIS office (get an appointment via InfoPass). If your I-485 is pending and I-765 has not been approved for 90 days, you are eligible for EAD issued right away at your local office.
With all due respect, Shusterman is playing politics here.
As most of the CA attorneys, he's a bleeding heart liberal, so he uses every opportunity to byte the Republican administration.
Besides, he is actively supporting the amnesty (read: even further retrogression for all hardworking decent...
Talking to FBI...
Alex904,
No wonder the people you've talked to were nice - that's part of their job description ;)
I just wonder whether you've tried to contact them and ask if they can now expedite your namecheck. This actually may work...
My PD is current. I called today and spoke to a lady at TSC - according to her, my case is still pending some security checks - she said she could not elaborate on which exactly (NC or FP). Since my application is still within their processing time limits I cannot formally inquire the reason for...
Apparently, there is no issue with it since I've filed for my daughter's AP separately and it got approved without any surprizes.
Do not forget to mail the supporting documents for your wife's I-765 and I-131. For the former, you'll need a copy of the first page of your online receipt, a copy...
I've done this, for the same exact reason.
Filed for my and my wife's EAD's and AP's on the USCIS web site. You need to file I-765's first in this case - otherwise I-131's will be treated as a separate filing.
We've got our AP's in three weeks time, but we're still waiting for EAD's (2 months...
Just 2c worth of info: I've got an e-mail from USCIS that my daughter's AP has been approved on September 13th. I've filed I-131 for her online on August 3rd (didn't use attorney, just e-filed the form, paid by credit card and mailed them the photos and the copy of her I-485 receipt). It's EB-2...
Well, this isn't completely accurate.
AFAIK, Canada and Mexico would let a person with a GC in even if they are national of the countries that otherwise require a visa.
Also, in Europe there is Switzerland that lets the GC-holders in without a visa.
Great method! Thanks a lot - just worked for me.
No good news unfortunately - the lady on the phone said she is not authorized to tell me whether I am in the namecheck.
I'll wait a few days and give it another shot - maybe a different person will be more cooperative...
In my case there is no lawyer involved (I've filed I-131's and I-765's online myself), but I beleive that they (USCIS) mail the AP's directly to the person to whom issued. At least, this was the language in the USCIS status update e-mail.
