Does anyone know what happens if you have to send in documents after the interview ends. I got a printout giving me 60 days to provide evidence which I posted by certified mail the very same day to the person who interviewed us.
I still haven't heard anything. We are traveling in June and now...
So, I went with my daughter to the interview yesterday, even though the officer who interviewed us last year said that only the sponsor (my husband) would have to appear. Well, thank god I was there as this officer wanted my green card, my birth certificate, my divorce decree and asked questions...
My husband, USC sponsor, lost his job in February but in March I bought a business for us. It is all on my name and I am waiting to be incorporated so I can start employing people including my husband. In the meantime he is collecting unemployment benefit as he is entitled to it from his...
Thank you for the quick reply. How much does the co-sponsor have to earn though? Enough to support the minor or enough to support the whole family of 3? According to US proverty guidelines it's $23K for 3 people. Can I (the wife and mother) be the sponsor alone or is it better to ask my...
So my husband jointly with me is the sponsor for my daughter, his step daughter and our interview is coming up April 14th. However, a couple of weeks ago he lost his job. Will this cause a problem?
Without advance parole, yes. I believe it is one year though. AP is not issued if return is planned within 365 days. However, when I had my interview the immigration officer said that you must have a good excuse for staying out of the country over 180 days. I would consult an immigration...
So, I managed to get hold of someone today from USCIS even though I didn't have a valid MSC number and I was told that applications could take up to 30 days to appear on the system. So I asked her to check if a biometrics appointment had been scheduled on this application yet and I was told that...
So I applied for a SSN for my daughter but the form I filled out and sent with the I-485 expired. So no, worries, I filled out a new one and resent it. In the meantime I got a letter for a biometrics request related to the I-485. Just after it was done I got a notice/application received letter...
I think I-130 alone is for those who are outside the US. I-485 is the one that will change your wife's status. Might as well wait till you get you citizenship and file both. I don't know. That's what I would do, unless someone has a better idea.
B-2 visa is easy to get. You just call the embassy and get an appointment date. They will send you the application form and you take it with you to the appointment. They can grant you a visa there and then. You can get your visa in 2 weeks.
Also you could ask for a 10 year visa that would...
You can send a letter explaining your situation and hope for the best. I am sure that there are people out there who have succeeded. I am also sending an I-131 for my daughter who has become illegal through my fault. Normally if you are out of status they don't like to issue an AP.
The I-130 was rejected because without the I-485 it should not have been sent to the Chicago Lockbox. That's all it said; incorrect filing address. I also got denial letters for I-765 and I-131 because of incorrect fees. That also made sense since without the I-485 these apps are not free. So my...
Well, these attorneys are supposed to be competent through Hyatt Legal. Anyway, I sent her all the documents so perhaps she can tell me something new.
I should have filed an I-485 for her and then it would have been the end of it. That's all I can say.
Or wait until you get your citizenship then file for her as a USC.
It will still take about the same amount of years though or even longer if you just got your GC, unfortunately.
I would apply for a B-2 visa. On the application form there is a section where you can put down info about your previous green card, etc. You will have to arrange an interview in London anyway, there you can explain, in more detail, your situation.
I would doubt that your green card was even...
You are petitioning for your daughter so she is on page one. Her children and her husband are the relatives of your daughter so you list only them on page 2.
Documents to send:
copies of passports
copies of your relatives birth certificates
copies of marriage certificate
copies of your birth...
