Lawyer suggested me to get H status

While not required, there is nothing wrong with trying to get H esp. If company is funding it Good luck
  2. Hello Mister

Lawyer suggested me to get H status

H status of course requires one to go through lottery. That aside, if your organization is funding everything including filing of h1 petition, there isn't anything wrong with it

Getting TN visa before Quitting Job for Canadian employer ?

You'll have to formally enter the US. You can't just get TN, cancel flight and turn back

Nope ... you should be fine with Nov 10
  7. Hello Mister

Would TN be affected or terminated under new deal to replace NAFTA?

time will tell but if I had to bet, it would be that things will remain intact

TN status for spouse jeopardized by my US citizenship?

Just ooc, what residency requirements did you not satisfy (and as a result your child is not a US citizen)?
  9. Hello Mister

    Late project start

You are fine if you got your TN already
  10. Hello Mister

Renewing TN with the same employer

I would caution against doing that. One should officially enter. Border agents do not like people telling them I am here for just TN and then I want to turn back. If I were you, I'd actually enter the US and then go back to Canada after a bit
  11. Hello Mister

Renewing TN with the same employer

you can do it on the same day *but* dont tell the agent: "I will get my TN and turn back". Just enter the US and then you can come back after (maybe) spending 1-2 hrs
  12. Hello Mister

Renewing TN with the same employer

I think borders close to Canada generally have agents who understand the process well. I have heard lot of good things about Ogdensburg POE too (2 hrs from Montreal) Good luck
  13. Hello Mister

Advise best POE on West Coast

There's no hard and fast rule about this. In tn, your degree and corresponding tn category is all that matters. Are you applying as an engineer? What's your educational background?
  14. Hello Mister

TN or H4-EAD for Spouse already in US

That's correct. New job offer = new tn needed to work on it. TN is tied to the job for which it was granted, not blanket work authorization for all job offers
  15. Hello Mister

TN or H4-EAD for Spouse already in US

both will work ok however with the narrative currently around h4 ead, tn might be better until you are eligible for filing 485
  16. Hello Mister

Doesn't hurt to bring copies imo. Good luck
  17. Hello Mister

Extending TN status at the border with the same employer

either way works as long as you physically depart the US and then seek re entry on TN
  18. Hello Mister

Renewal TN or Get A New TN

renewal TN is technically a new TN. You'd bring all supporting docs (including a new letter from the employer) showing that you qualify for the TN
  19. Hello Mister

Risk of going to border to get new TN visa for new employer

G-28 is not required tbh but there is no harm in bringing it. Border will likely not care too much abt it
  20. Hello Mister

    Good border for first TN

i dont see any issue with you flying into canada, turning back and requesting tn at Pearson and going back to US (if approved of course). what you cannot do is get TN at Pearson, *not* enter US, spend 2 days in Canada...i think you get the picture. summarily, you HAVE to enter US after you get tn
