I'm going to file my application next month, when I am eligible for the 90-day early filing. I am filing as a 5-year PR, though I got my GC through my wife who is a USC.
1. There is a question in the application asking the date and place when and where my wife became a USC. However, she said...
I will be a US Citizen within a few months. So I have started thinking about the application to sponsor my parents overseas to US. The problem is that my brother, who is already 21, has been studying here in the US with the F-1 Visa for 2 years already and is in good status.
I have seen other...
I was called for the I-751 interview. She only asked me the letters written by the neighbors about my relationship. They must be notarized. So I suppose these are the most important things to them.
My friend was married to a US Navy. He was high-ranked and usually on duty in Japan, thus the interview was very tough since they do not live together often. They were separated in the interview and both were threatened by the interviewer (I'm not kidding). They were then called for the 2nd...
I don't understand much about the laws. I can only tell you that lots of my old friends in college in Seattle were international students with F-1 status; they partied hard , dropped out of school, and worked in Asian restaurants for cash. A few years later, some got married with USCs and...
The question you got asked was for your citizenship. The interview is to prove your marriage is real.
They will start going over the evidences you have during the interview, then start asking questions about your marriage (how you met, your relatives, your daily habit, the house, your future...
There is a small percentage of application randomly picked up for interview for quality purposes. Also, applications that did not have enough evidence will also be called for interview (which is in my case when I was a bit overly confident to not submit all the house paperwork we had). We went...
Yes. Submit the AR-11 online AND also CALL the USCIS to update your application's address.
It happened to me that they sent to my old address the biometrics appointment and I missed it because I ONLY updated the AR-11. That missing mail caused 6 month delay to my application
Thanks for the points. I think I will do that. The Atlanta field office does the oath the same date with the interview, so I might only need to fly back once.
Thanks for the responses guys.
She will will stay in the old house for a few months before we make our decision (based on how much I like the job) to officially move to the new place. We have not listed our house for selling yet. She will still be able to check my mails during this time.
Would...
I'm going to apply for the N-400 after living with my wife for 4 years on East Coast. But I got a job offer in a different state starting next year on the West Coast. So will my application be transferred to a different office and be delayed after I submit the Change of Address? Do you know what...
I don't see any problem with the separate interview based on the questions and the attitude of the officer. If you live together with your wife and she did not say "it's not real" when they put her under pressure, the answers and interview should be good. Wait 2 weeks you will see the approval...
In my Atlanta city, the office where I took my biometrics and where I had the Infopass appointment to have a stamp on my non-US passport are different.
I have a different situation from you: I took my biometrics after I missed the appointment date (twice), so I just walked in the office with the...
Make sure you have evidences that he cheated on you.
It happened to my friend once. They divorced after 2 years of marriage. She went to the interview and they asked the reasons and details of the marriage. 5 months later. Yes 5 months later she got the GC.
Regarding your answer to question 1, I do not think you will be able to obtain the 10-year card (permanent residency) without applying for the 2-year card first (temporary residency). The I-751 application (10-year card) is to remove the temporary residency of your status.
